Attack of the Dead

Part 3: Taking the town

I look at the dead zombies on the ground as I walk through the bus. I see the windows are blacked out so I take my gun and smash one of the windows being surprised at what I saw. It was a town full of humans not zombies. I looked and the Dark Knights at the entrance and one came behind me and said "So where you told they where zombies too" I look up to see a young teenager looking girl. I look shocked "Why are you here?" I looked at her not knowing what to say. "I was captured by these guys at an old village they raided and they always said we where there "zombies" because they had us always controlled like they have the zombies controlled" she explained "they where the one's who started this a few weeks ago." I looked shocked and I didn't know what to say I just stood there looking through the broken window until I heard footsteps coming in and I turn to point my gun. "Woah ,rookie, watch where you point that thing" The guard who I first me said looking at me "I assume you know that we aren't the best of people by now" he says glaring at the girl. "She is one of the lucky ones but she is ungrateful about it. Well now you know that we have to take are food and yes we started it." He says "But on accident" he added "We are trying to fix it" I nod and turn back to the window and say "I've been told to watch I follow orders no matter how cruel" I look through my guns scope and see are guys bringing food out and mounting up in an SUV so I back out of the window to only see the windows breaking from gun fire I tackle the girl to protect her and the guy gets hit near the heart and falls down bleeding. I look at him for a minute then I start shooting and when I peak up I see the SUV pull in a gun shots come from it towards the people so I fire at the people that fired at me.

When the firing ceased I look through the window to the town where only a few people lived and they lay there dead and they guy next to me had died so put him in the bus and walked out with the girl. And the SUV's where there lined up as the one at the gate came around the corner. "Good job rookie" I was told as I got in the SUV. I nodded unsure weather to be happy or sad cause I killed people.

The vehicle was silent for most the trip till the guy next to me broke the silence "they where a raider group who had issues with wanting to help us so they shot first and we defended ourselves. We don't kill we try not to but defense we do. Don't let what happened just then effect how you look at us, please." I didn't say a word just continued to stare out the window

We eventually got back to the base and when we drove in the zombies that went in earlier where go so I assumed that they killed them. When I went out of the building the leader came up to me "hey we need to talk" she said taking me back into the building and gave me a pistol and we got in an armored spiked car. I looked at her as we drove off confused on what we where doing until she spoke "listen I know what I said wasn't the truth I apologize but what would you have said if I told you the truth?" She asked
   "I would have said no" I replied
"Exactly why I had to lie to you otherwise we would have probably lost we had enough men but we would lose alot which counts as a lose to us" I nod as she spoke "we are friendly,ok, we won't harm you only the ones who attack first or steal from us" she says as she stops in the middle of a small town. I didn't realise where it was till I saw the busses... It was the town we just attacked but it looked so clean and empty except for an SUV in the corner I look back at her "it's yours you've earned it there is food and seeds and gear in that SUV over there you are an official soldier of the Dark Knights" she says giving me a patch and I look at her and I step out of the car. "I guess you'll be checking in alot?" I asked "actually no we don't will only check in once a month see how things are doing" she says I nod in approval. "I'll see you around leader" I say as I shut the door and watch her back out and I go over and close the door. Well I have a place of my own I guess I gotta recruit people for this town and get supplies to fortify it. I think to myself as I walk over to the SUV and look at the food and supplies I see a shotgun with alot of ammo and an assault rifle also with alot of ammo and a vest. They sure want me protected I think to myself as I put on the vest. I grab a sandwich they made for me to eat and I get in the driver seat and see 4 gascans full of gas in the back seat. These people where prepared for this thing. I start driving out of my town and I heard a voice and it was coming from a radio but I couldn't quite understand it "Hello ----- there." all I heard between static.
