After that the days past with nothing new, work was bland and boring. I work at a corner coffee shop in my town, nothing ever changes and most of the time the business is slow and boring. I had to have a job to support myself seeing as to how Grant is no longer here, and my new novel hasn't been close to written yet. Everything was bland until one day a man walked into the shop and every part of my life flipped upside down...The man was tall, slender, with an unforgettable face. He wore a suit and tie that made his scruff and glasses bring out his bright green eyes. It has been almost a year since I lost Alex but I will still admire the masculine beauties of men. Granted, I am not too good for an amazing one night stand to take away the dread of my life. The man walks towards the counter and my brain automatically goes into flirt mode. He was a gentleman and he winked back but it went no where, and I didn't expect it to.

That night I drug myself home to get some rest, I got home around 8:00 and the doorbell rang soon after I got my glass of tea and my book to unwind that night. I found it odd for someone to knock on the door unless it was my neighbor bringing me a meal. I open the door and it' s the guy from the shop that afternoon, the next few minutes changed my life.

"Hello, I hope you don't think I am stalking you! My name is Jonathan Jackson. I was Grant's Lawyer concerning his will and estate in the chance that he passed away. I hope you don't mind me coming." he says gently.

"Hello, I'm...." he cut me off before I could finish my statement.

"Sofia Thorn" He says with an unforgettable smile.

" Come in and have a seat, pardon the mess" I say when my living room is spotless except for the blanket and pillow positioned on my couch for my reading.

" Looks fine to me!" He states after examining the room

"Let's have a seat" I say

"Thank you Ma'am! I need to inform you on some of Grant's will and where you come in concerning his passing" he says as he opens his briefcase.

"I never knew he had a will, I figured that I was the only one that the stuff could go to" I say trying to sound like a self concerned ass.

"In his will he left everything to you as you just said, but on top of that he stated that his mother was to get nothing but this letter" he says as he hands me an old roughed up envelope with a distinct name on it..........Laura Robinns.

"Our mother is alive?" I ask so stupidly.

"Yes, but she is excluded from my visit today! Grant had a life savings on top of life insurance as well as the large lump sum of money from the charter company that killed him"

Just the utter surprise of knowing that my mom was in Grant's life was enough to rattle me to my core. The rest was just legal crap that the handsome man poured out at me and gave me the information, the money that Grant had left to me was enough to live well for three lifetimes.

What I would do next ? The hell if I knew. But I knew for sure that I was going on a date with Mr Jackson! Even if hell had to freeze over for it to happen.
