"This has to go! We can't save it"
"Yes, it should... Or else, she'll bleed out and we'll lose her"
She couldn't make out where she was or what was happening.
There was an eerie darkness around her. She heard muffled echoes of people talking in that darkness. The voices seemed quite unfamiliar. She couldn't make out what the voices around her meant, whom did they belong to. All she could understand was that something had to go. What, she had absolutely no idea...!

They told her she had an operation and they had to remove her uterus...

With a gasp, she opened her eyes. There were lights, lots of them. Lights so bright that they blinded her.
She felt something in her mouth, something that choked her. There was something in her nostrils too. She couldn't breath. She felt herself drowning. She started coughing and some fluid started gushing out of her mouth and nose.
She felt something being shoved down her throat. She clenched her teeth to stop that from happening. She felt someone grab her, someone trying to open her mouth. She heard someone telling her to let go so that they may clean her airway.
She didn't trust the voices. She resisted with all her might...
And then she drifted back into that same frightening darkness.

They told her she developed some complication to the surgery and had started bleeding from everywhere. They were trying suction to clear her airway...

Her head hurt. It was spinning. Or was it the room? She couldn't tell...
She raised her hand to her head. Something caught her eyes. She stared at those strange hands. They didn't look like her hands. There were bruises all over them. Her arms were bruised too. Her whole body ached.
Did someone beat her up, she wondered...
She saw her daughter crying as she talked to a doctor. Someone poked a needle in her arm. She tried letting out a cry for help but her voice seemed lost somewhere. She choked on her own words. She couldn't move.
Confused, darkness once again engulfed her.

They told her that her family was explained about her critical condition. Everyone had lost hope. But they still prayed for a miracle.

She felt a nudge on right side of her neck.
She woke up to multiple tubes attached to her body. The tubes filled with her blood led to some sort of machine.
Were they draining her off of her blood?
Panic arose in the form of a globus in her throat. They were going to kill her. She started screaming with all her might, tried taking the tubes out of her neck.
She felt someone grab her, someone pushed some sort of medicine in her IV.
Slowly she faded back to the deep slumber.

They told her that her kidneys had started to fail. Her body couldn't get rid of all the toxins being produced. They had to put her on dialysis.

"Mom, please don't leave us".
She woke up to the sobs of her daughter. She tried comforting her. Her own eyes welled up.
"I'm good now", she tried speaking.
Her daughter held her hands. She could see her son talking to a doctor. She wondered what they were talking about.

She sat up with her daughter's support. She saw a doctor approaching with a massive grin on her face.
"How are you feeling today?' she asked.
"Quite well", she answered. "When can I go home?"
"As soon as you want", the doctor answered.

She underwent two more dialysis sessions. Then she was discharged.

They told her she had DIC as a complication to her surgery. Little did she know about her disease but from what she experienced and was explained, she knew it was something of a miracle that she survived. It was a miracle she made it out alive. They had scheduled follow up visits for her now. She was taking her medicine and was getting better and healthier day by day.

She had found her way back from the darkness. They told her she, in the truest of it's sense, was given a new life...
