Her

That's my first thought when I walk into the cafeteria. I didn't think about how hungry I was or how surprisingly delicious the food smelled. I saw her and she was all I could think of.

Her long ebony hair cascaded down her back and fell elegantly past her shoulders. It gave off a sheen that danced from root to tip as she walked. Her heart shaped face was half way between an amused smirk and a pout that made me want to kiss her.

"Who is that?" I subtly point her out to Cody.

Cody follows my line of vision and looks confused for a second. "I don't recognize her. But she looks Indian, so she's more than likely the new girl from India."

I temporarily lose sight of her as several people walk between me and her. I almost frantically move away from them and spot her again. From here, I can see her smile and laugh at something the small girl next to her said. She tilts her head down when she laughs instead of back. She's reserved and self conscious. But she had the most beautiful smile I'd ever seen.

Cody and Eli lead us over to a table a few tables down from where she sits with people I don't recognize from any of my classes who must be underclassmen. Whether she herself is an underclassman or not, she doesn't look like one, I want to know her. I want to see her lips part and reveal her straight white teeth. I want to hear her voice trickle with that little laughter of hers.

"I want to know her." I tell Eli and Cody around a large bite of pork chop.

They both look over. "Her?" They both ask at the same time.

I nod, choosing this time to allow my mouth to be full and not be a slob.

"Dude, I'm not sure if you can tell, but she doesn't exactly seem like the type of girl you can just walk up to and get her number." Eli warns me.

"Yeah I got that when I first saw her. But she's my type of girl. I like when they don't do anything extra to get attention. I like when they're just a bit more quiet, a little less like myself."

"Alright my dude, if you want to challenge yourself to get that girl then go for it."

I finish eating, forking down my food at a rapid rate, and stand up from the table.
