I burst out of the wardrobe and swung for my opponent whose face was covered by a black balaclava, i aimed roughly for where i thought their eyes would be and then WACK one hit and they where down, i watched as the intruder who was at least 3 inches taller than me came crashing down making a loud thudding sound as their body connected with the floor. I held the photo frame covered in a little blood just above my head ready to strike again but they didn't move at all. I used the tip of my big toe to gently tap the lifeless body in front of me... No response, revealing a little smirk on my face which quickly disappeared as I remembered that there were at least two or more people upstairs on the third floor, i sprinted downstairs making a loud thudding noise with every took step i took, leaving the unconscious body behind on my bedroom floor.
To my surprise I saw five other people roaming around my kitchen/dining room. Out of disbelief i took a step back knocking a glass vase off the table which caught everybody's attention, suddenly out of nowhere I felt a huge hand clamp over my mouth causing me to squeal in terror. I closed my eyes hoping this was just a nightmare I could wake up from. When I realised this wasn't a nightmare I attempted kicking and screaming to free myself from the tight grip but the person was too strong for me, their huge hand blocked the sound of my screams as well as my oxygen, i felt myself become light headed until i nearly blacked out, then I turned my head as I saw something in the corner of my eye which was a frying pan aimed at my head.
*1 HOUR LATER*
I opened my eyes to see a pearly white bath tub in front of me I tried moving my arms yet something restricted me from doing so, finally coming to the realisation that I am tied to a hand carved wooden arm chair. I tried to regain memory of what has just happened but hearing my front door open both relieved and terrified me. My first reaction was to yell… "HELP… HELP... HELP!!" at the top of my lungs, I waited for a while for a response... nothing. I then heard my mothers croaky voice coming down the hallway as the sound of her heels got louder and louder.
"APRIL!?, what has happened to you? Whats that gash on your head!"
"MUM I-"
"Why are you covered in blood!!" Mother screamed as she tried but failed to untie the tight knots around both my wrists. "Wait, stay there, let me get a knife"She said as she dashed out the room to the kitchen.
"WELL, where the fuck am I supposed to go?" I said with tears streaming down my face.
Moments later my mother returned with a knife in hand, wait should I really let my alcohol soaked mother near my wrists with a sharp bladed knife?? Too late to go back now, how else was I meant to get out.
When she was half way cutting through the rope on my wrists, I could smell the vile stench coming from my mothers mouth which was a mixture of alcohol and vomit. I swore that I could have passed out at that very moment, I held my breath for as long as I possibly could. Once released from being tied up like an animal, my mother pulled me into a tight hug which sucked the air out of me, I had to push her with a lot of force to be able to free myself from the bear hug she gave me, I bent over breathing in a huge amount of oxygen to finally speak again.
"What the hell has happened?" She asked me acting like she cared, I told her everything I could recall of the break in, which left her speechless (for once in her life) she stared at me with a shocked expression until she finally spoke "Im calling 999" as she rushed off to dial the number on her phone. I slid down the door I was leaning on and embraced my knees close to my body then rested my fuzzy head on the edge of my knee caps, sobbing quietly to myself.
When the police FINALLY arrived I repeated what I had told my mother to only get a small reply of "We will see what we can do, love." Which filled me with anger, I felt my cheeks going a slight shade of red so I decided to look down towards my feet admiring my odd socks which had a giraffe on one foot and a penguin on the other to try and avoid the officer's eyes that where burning a hole in the side of my face?
