"Cami hunny come downstairs!"

My mum screamed from the top of her lungs. I rolled my eyes, threw off my duvet and put Game of thrones on pause. What could she possibly want this time? I jogged down the stairs and entered the kitchen. "You summoned me."

She rolled her eyes and poured herself a glass of red wine. "John! Come in the kitchen." I sat on the stool next to her and grabbed a glass and then the wine bottle. "Do we have to do this now dear, I'm watching the game." Mum glanced at me grabbed the bottle of wine out of my hand and replaced it with a bottle of water. I gave her a toothy grin as she shook her head.  "Well it can wait we have more important things to discuss." Dad stood on the other side of the counter and took a beer out of the fridge. "More important than football."

"So hunny, me and your dad wanted to give you this before you went away." She handed me a long black box with a red bow. "What's this?" I looked at her and dad confused to why they were giving me a gift. "Maybe if you open it kiddo you'll find out." I shook the box a little before unwrapping the bow. "Love the sarcasm dad." I opened the box which revealed a diamond cuff bracelet and a matching pair of earrings. "Omg I love it, seriously you guys didn't have to buy this. It must have cost a fortune." Dad ruffled my hair and pulled me into a hug. "No problem kiddo."

"Don't take all the credit john." I laughed as she pulled me into a hug. "Now Camilla, that bracelet has been passed down through the generations so make sure you look after it." She grabbed my wrist looking at the cuff. "Of course I will mum, thank you."

"So is everything packed and ready to go kiddo." I took out my old earring replacing them with my new ones. "Just got a few more little bits to sort out and then I'll be done. I'm a little nervous though, I mean I've had no practice with magic."  Mum ushered me to sit down and dad slid another box over to me. This one much larger. "Don't worry Cami a lot of the students there also wouldn't have had much experience, but I am very sure you will become a great witch." She gave me a soft smile and took the lid of the box. "Oh great. A book. Let the studying commence." I rolled my eyes and pushed the book aside.

"This isn't any book Camilla, this was your great grandmother's grimoire which she left in her will for you." She slid the book back to me and wiped off some of the dust. "Well hopefully there will be something in here to help me get going." I began to open the book and flip through the pages but it was quickly closed and placed back on the box. I looked up at mum confused. "Your grandmother specifically told us to tell you, to wait until you arrive at Grimlock before you open her grimoire."

"Oh righhhhtt." I mean I really wanted to respect my grandmothers wishes but the temptation to open it was growing stronger by the minute. "Mum do you have any pictures of her, I would love to know what she was like." I stared at the book some more and played with the bracket on my wrist. "Umm... she didn't really have many photographs sweetie as camera weren't as accessible in her days." Dad cleared his throat and threw his empty beer can away returning to the living room.

"So are we gonna have our last movie night together until I return for Christmas?" I grabbed the microwave popcorn out of the cupboard. "I wouldn't miss it for the world sweetie. The problem is getting daddy dearest over there to turn off the sports channel." Grinning we both ran after dad attacking him on the sofa for the remote control. Despite there being 2 of us and 1 of him, his strength was to much for us to compete with. Dad was now sitting on top of me and had both his legs wrapped around mum.

"All you had to do was ask." He grinned. "Dadddd, seriously... I can't breath." This caused him to laugh some more until mum 'accidentally' got him in his 'male parts.' "I love you two women more than anything in the world. But seriously you always seem to get me in the same place!"
