Chapter 1-Reagan's POV
"Ok, I'll tell you the truth. Darkness was everywhere. The last normal thing I remember is I was trying not to fall asleep in the middle of Spanish class when I started falling through the floor. And now, everything is different."
"We just want to know what happened." There were two men questioning me for I-don't-know-what. One, he called himself Maxwell, was the obvious leader; he interrogated me with questions I didn't know the answer to and seemed to expect something miraculous to happen every time I looked up. The second man stood behind Maxwell, flexed his muscles, and glared at me nonstop. I never learned his name.
I woke up in this cramped, concrete box not knowing where I was. That's not even the worst part; I don't remember falling asleep or being knocked out or whatever. The next thing I know a lady with green skin, purple eyes, and blue hair strolls in. Her presence was palpable. As soon as she glided through the door, Maxwell and his accomplice sat up straighter.
"I truly apologize for Maxwell's sense of humor," the lady hissed as she took a seat. The snake lady extended a hand, "I am Wynona. Head mistress at the Cambridge Academy for the Gifted and I would like to extend you an offer to attend my school."
"You're kidding right? You kidnaped me. Drugged me. Harassed me. Then expect me to join your school. Fat chance." I exclaimed with disbelief, forgetting how scared I was. After all, you don't just kidnap, drug, and harass someone then expect them to join your school. Wynona stared at me unfazed like being rejected was just another part of the recruitment process. "We didn't drug you Reagan Anemone," she said slowly as she looked at my file. "Maxwell's friend there can suppress someone's power and mind. So you see you have no choice but to comply. Plus, you may find you quite like the school."
