Chad's POV
Giving birth to a child is the most amazing thing that a woman can do and just watching my wife give birth to twins is incredible. I'm not ever going to forget the moment that I saw my son and daughter being born.
"Push," the nurse yells.
Grace grabs my hand and she pushes. "It fucking hurts," she yells. She has sweat pouring off her and she pushes as another contraction hits her.
A couple more pushes and my son is born. The doctor looks at me and says. "Do you want to cut the umbilical cord?"
I nod.
He gives me the scissors and tells me where to cut. I follow his instructions and cut it. My son begins to cry and he gets wrapped up in a blue blanket.
Grace looks at me. "Get back here, Chad. I need to hold your hand."
More like she wants to squeeze the shit out of them.
I walk back to her side and she grabs my hand as another contraction hits her. I grab a tissue off the table and wipe the sweat off her face.
She looks so tired.
Looking at me Grace says. "I don't want to have any more children, Chad. Knowing you, you'd probably put two more kids inside me."
A few people in the room laughing at what she said. "That's not true, sweetheart. You'll probably change your mind in a couple years anyway."
She pushes again on the next contraction and her grip on my hand tightens again. Our daughter finally makes her way into the world and I cut the umbilical cord again.
My daughter's eyes open and she looks at me and starts crying. The nurses take my kids over to Grace and place them on her, giving them skin to skin contact.
Grace kisses both their heads and she says. "I love you both very much."
Tears run down my face as I look at my family and Grace sees it. I wipe the tears away and approach the bed. "They're cute." I whisper, stopping next to her. I don't make a move to hold them as I'm afraid that I will hurt them.
After fifteen minutes, the twins are taken from Grace to get cleaned up. She looks at me and says. "Follow them. I don't want my kids to be switched." I follow the nurse to wash area and watch the bathe my kids.
Once they're clean I take the twins in the hospital beds to Grace's room. Where I find her with five other woman in the room.
We can afford a private room. I don't know why she would still want to share the room with other woman. She needs privacy and proper sleep.
I walk over to her. "Are you sure you don't want a private? I can still make it happen."
She sighs. "Okay, make it happen. I wasn't expecting it to be so busy in here." she admits to me.
I walk over to the nurse's station and tell them that Grace would like a private room. They tell me that they will get it sorted, right away. Walking back into the room I look at Grace. "What are we going to name our daughter?"
A smile spreads across her face. "I was thinking Arielle Charlotte Kristofferson."
I kiss the top of her head. "That's a beautiful name. I never told you my father's name as I wanted to surprise you with the name once our son was born. His name was Brody."
"I love that name. So, how about we call him Brody Samuel Kristofferson?"
"I love it." I walk over to my children and say. "Welcome to the family, Arielle and Brody. I love you both so much."
