I threw everything i could grab into my black, backpack. My head was spinning and my cheeks were wet from the tears that i was crying.
Your worthless. Yor nothing but dead to us. The only reason we took you in was for the money. Your a waste!
Those words kept playing throuhg my head with everyhting i did. After i shoved everything i could fit into my bag, i went under my bed and pulled out the money i had saved up from years ago. I threw it into my bag and ran down the sairs and out the front door. I was running as fast as i could. Not daring to look back once, to see the house that now lingers in the background. It was dark out and the only light was from the street liights, lighting up the dirt road i lived on. I ran as fast as i could until i approached the city. I slowed down my pace to a walk. I was breathing heavily and holding my hips in pain. I had no place to stay so i found steps of a big building and sat there until the sun came up.
Once the sun came up, everyone started to come alive. I stepped down and started to walk. I had no idea what i was going to do or where i was going but in my head it was the best thing to do. There were people everywhere. I don't think i have ever been with this many people before. I walked until something caught my eye.
I walked up to the shop and it was for the army. I thought about it for a second and thought this was my best chance of actually getting a real job since i knew i was not going to college. I walked in and the bell on top of the door alerting the guy at the front desk to look up at me.
"Hi" he gretted me with a smile. I returned the favor. "What brings you in here today?"
"I want to join.' I said, with a serious face.
He gave me a look before handing me a clipboard with a bunch of papers.
"I need you take this test to see if you pass. If you do we will wevlauate you and see where you can join." He said.
I took the the clipboard and found a seat up aganist the window. It took me about an hour to finish the test.
'Here you go." I handed him the cilpboard.
He took it and flashed me a smile before retrieving into a room in the back. I walked away from the desk and looked at all photos that were all over the walls. I then sat and waited for maybe and hour and a half.
He walked back out and i stood up anxious for what he had to say.
"Well we evealuated you and you passed." He said. I smiled. "now all we need to do is weigh you and see where you can place in." He said.
He pointed to the scale and i walked on it.
"Alright, well from your weight you can join the army in combat or the navy.' He said.
I thought about it for a minute.
"I want to join the army." I said, firmly.
He smiled and went back to his desk calling soemone. I sat back down and ignored the conversation because i knew it was baout me.
"Well Angel, it looks like you are heading to Hawaii tonight for boot camp." He said. "If you want to go say good-bye to anyone you can go now."
"No, i am ready now." I said, making him give me a look of shock.
"Are you sure?" He asked me.
"Yes"
2 hours later i was at the airport wating for my flight to Hawaii. I was sitting there all by myslef when i noticed about 5 guys walk over and sit in the same area i was. They started talking and i couldn't help but over hear their conversation. They were talking about how bootcamp would be like. I looked up from the magizene i was reading and glanced at them. One of them looked at me sending my face to look right back at the magizene.
