Chapter 17: Awkward



Liam's P.O.V.

I saw lights flashing through the night sky as it approached my curb. The lights shut off, like it was a car.


'Fuck! it's Harry!' I thought to myself. I ran downstairs where y/n was, still didn't tell her why I kissed her, I couldn't now since Harry was here, knowing Louis was here as well.

She looked at me confused, "What were you saying?" She said in her sweet little voice of hers.

"It's to late." I muttered to myself for only me to hear.

Moments later there was a knock at the door, y/n just sighed and walked over to the couch flipping through channels.

I walked over to the door and swung it open to an eager Harry and a confused Louis. "Hey mate!" Harry said with a grin on his face as the dimple on his right cheek appeared.


"Hi Harry." I said in a low voice. "Hi Liam." Louis said with a crooked smile on his face, he looked lonely, the bags under his eyes made it seem like he hasn't slept in days. He looked miserable.


"Come in guys." I said moving myself out of the way for them. They walked in and Louis' eyes widened as he saw y/n sitting there giving the same reaction as he did.

This should be interesting.





Louis' P.O.V.

As I walked into Liam's flat I notice the girl curled up in a ball flipping through channels sitting there.


My eyes widened as I knew who that girl was. "L-Louis??" She choked out, in utter shock.

I didn't know how to respond. The main thing running through my mind was what she was doing here.


Had Harry invited me here knowing she would be here? I turned back to Harry who was grinning but it faded away when I glanced at him with a shocked expression.

"Well I'll leave you two to it, shall we Liam?" Harry asked glancing over at Liam who was looking down at the floor emotionless. What was wrong with him? I thought to myself.

"Yeah .." He muttered. They walked upstairs leaving me and y/n alone.

I haven't spoken to y/n since the day I left for Harry's. "So..." Her high pitched voice said almost humming.


I didn't know what to say, if I should speak or just stay quiet. "So..." Was all I could say back.


I heard her cough to break the silence. Well this is awkward.

"What are you doing here?" I asked finally breaking the awkward silence. She looked down at the remote, fiddling with it with her fingers. "After you left..." She said breathing unsteadily. "I couldn't bare to be in the flat having so much memories of... Us. I needed to go somewhere to get my mind away from that stress. The only place I could think of was Liam's." She said In a low voice.




"Oh..." Was all I could say. I didn't know what to say. A lot of things were running through my mind at the moment. But the one thing that was replaying itself like a record on replay was what Harry had told me in the car after I had my little pay back on Daniel. 'Whats going to happen between you and y/n?'


It was something that has been bothering me for quite sometime but I just don't know what to do.


Stay or leave?






Liam's P.O.V.


"You did what..?!" Harry yelled only loud enough for me and him to hear. "I couldn't help it, I-It's just, since she's been here for a while I started growing these feelings for her, mate they won't seem to go away. I know it's wrong b-but I can't help it." I said stuttering.


Harry sighed as those words came out of my mouth, he came here to try and bring Louis and y/n back together. Not to have another problem arise. "Mate, you do know she's with Louis?" He said rubbing his temples.



I sighed, of course I knew she was with Louis. It's just, all these feelings hit me all at once and I couldn't control it. "I know." I said looking down at the ground.





It was a brief moment of silence until Harry spoke again. "How did she react when you kissed her?" He said curiously. "She was blank. She didn't kiss back, she was just in shock of what I had just did." I said looking up at Harry who simply nodded his head.



He walked over to me and sat next to me on the edge of the bed. "Are these.... "Feelings" of yours, strong for her?" He said looking at me with anxious eyes.



That's where I had to think for a moment. I mean.. I did kiss her cos I couldn't control my emotions, but after the kiss I felt a whole bunch of weight lift off my shoulders, like I've just accomplished a goal or something. Come to think of it now, I felt like myself again. Only seeing her as just a best friend again.



"No." I simply responded meeting Harry's gaze. He looked me dead in the eye to make sure I wasn't lying. He nodded once he knew I wasn't and plopped down on the bed looking up at the ceiling.




A sigh escaped his lips as he just looked up at the bland ceiling. "What's gonna happen with Louis and y/n?" Harry said sounding a bit upset. I honestly didn't know what was gonna happen, I just hoped things would work out and bring things back to normal, but the way Louis looked when I first saw him come in. He seemed miserable at best. Making it harder to know if he would leave her or work things out.


"I don't know mate, I don't know." I said plopping down next to Harry staring up at the ceiling as well.


We'll just have to see.
