CHAPTER 1- The Beginning

Everything has a story. A meaning and an ending, just like life.

It has to start somewhere and where better than the beginning?

Alex walked into the small Starbucks and glanced down at his watch, it was forty minutes until school started. He strolled up to the counter; the smell of freshly ground coffee beans engulfed him. He winked at the cashier and ordered a coffee. She rolled her eyes and passed him the Styrofoam cup. He nodded his thanks and turned around, crashing into someone. He took automatically took a step back, causing the hot liquid to burn his hand. He yelped and dropped the drink, watching as it hit the linoleum and broke, brown liquid seeping from the now crushed Styrofoam. Alex sighed and looked up at the offender, he blinked. She was beautiful, utterly breathtaking really with dark blue eyes that danced on the edge of turning a deep indigo, delicate yet prominent features and brown hair so dark it was almost black. Alex felt his heart skip a couple beats

“Oh god” A soft voice sighed. His breath caught as he noticed her pink full lips.

“I’m so sorry!” She apologised. Alex regained his posture and run a hand through his blonde hair.

“Its, ah, its fine” He said, stumbling over his words. She shook her head.

“Are you sure?” She gestured to the remains of the cup. “I made you drop it, it’s the least I could do” She reached into her pocket and pulled out a cream purse.

“I’m sure” She frowned at him, he grinned

“But I owe you another” She pressed further, he shook his head

“I am a man, we do not accept beverages from woman” He laughed. She rolled her eyes and bit back a smile.

“Can men sit with girls while they’re drinking beverages?” She asked raising a fine eyebrow.

“Yes of course it is considered a date in a man’s life” Alex grinned, she laughed

“This is a bit fast isn’t it? A date within a minute we’ve met each other?” She asked, Alex grinned

“You offered” He said and walked past her and plopped himself into a couch. He amused himself with the old issues of magazines that lay on the table until she sat down. He looked up to see that see that she had placed a steaming cup of coffee in front of him. He frowned and opened his mouth, she held up her hand, stopping him

“I’m not going to hear it” She looked up at him, blue eyes silently challenging him. “The girl gave me a free one, she saw you drop yours” She explained, he nodded and cast his eyes down to the drink, taking a sip.

“So how are you enjoying the date so far?” He asked, and looked up from his drink she blushed

“A date? This is not a date, I just meet you and- I don’t even know your name!” She exclaimed, Alex laughed, and held out his hand

“I’m Alexander, but you can call my Alex” He winked at her. She flushed a deeper red then took his hand.

“Alecia” She gave his hand one shake before releasing it.

“Alecia…” He pondered over the name, it was pretty he thought and glanced up at her again, it fit her just perfectly. “I haven’t seen you around before”

She nodded and shrugged. “Yeah, I moved here two days ago,” She gave a mock fist pump then declared in an exaggerated perky voice. “First day of school, YAY!” A few heads turned their way, confused, but she didn’t seem to take notice
