I was blinded by a human rainbow. Hundreds of people stood in front of me sporting bright, colored shirts. I groaned inwardly, shifting my weight to my right side, tired of standing in line. when i finally made it to the front of the table a hefty stack of paper work was shoved in my face.
"Please, be sure to answer all the questions and fill in all the blank spaces." The chipper brunette smiled tapping her pen against my papers. She went on quickly telling me information that barely registered with me. But she kept on cheerfully telling me everything that seem to excite her about this government bullshit. Oh, excuse me, Government Privilege. I just nodded a long in till she started asking me questions.
"What is your birthday, honey?"
"September, 26, 1997"
"Okay, so Libra." She flipped through her blinder in till she made it to a bright red tab. She let her pen travel down the page searching for something.
"Last name?"
"Crowley."
"Layton Garrette Crowley?"
"Yeah, thats me." I cleared my throat nodding.
"Great." She smiled putting a perfect check mark next to my name. "I'll give you your special Libra group shirt, which must be worn all day along with your name tag. What size are you, honey?"
"Medium or Large i guess."
"All muscle I see!" She giggled and shifted through her stack of red shirts humming. "Here you go, hun." She handed me the shirt and a shiny, white name tag.
"Now all you have to do is go through this first gate and fill out your paper work and then you will go to the second gate and give them your paperwork and they will hand you some more information about your stay! Thanks, hun! I hope you enjoy this amazing experience." She grinned patting my arm and then shifting her eyes to her next person.
I made my way through the first gate following a yellow shirt Gemini to the long row of tables filled with others thirstily filling out their paper work. I dropped my papers onto the table and went to fill out my name when a the yellow shirt Gemini girl elbowed my arm making me almost smear my name all over the page.
"What group are you in?" She asked without looking up from her page.
"I don't know yet. I don't think we'll know in till we pass the next gate." I mumbled not looking from my page either.
She laughed tilting her head to look up at me her hand swinging up to move the hanging curls away from her face. "You didn't check to see which group you are in online? Ive been following the program on Instagram since day one." Her lips puckered and curled into a smile as she shook her head looking down at her papers again.
I scoffed at her ignorance. "Sorry, I don't get excited when the government makes me do things for their benefit."
"That is not why they have us here! It's for our benifit. This will help us find the best carrer path, our best friends and even our true love." She smiled at her own words.
