In Sans' opinion, Princess Frisk Seraphii Dreemurr was without a doubt the most elegant, most graceful, most radiant young lady in the kingdom. Her beauty was rivaled by none, for no other could copy her perfectly tan skin, her long caramel hair curled just so, and her golden eyes glittered like the SAVE stars he saw scattered around the Underground. He loved everything about her, from her kind and loving personality to her fading scars that were painful souvenirs from her origins on the Aboveground. She was the Underground Kingdom's angel, she was perfect.

But looking at her entering her own birthday ball, it was clear that he didn't deserve her.

As her ruby red gown bounced with each step down the marble staircase and as her golden crown twinkled with the lights reflecting off of the metal, and as her wolf Kettei rushed down to greet everyone he liked, he fingered the silver ring with sapphires and rubies embedded on the surface in his pocket. The same ring that his mother gave to him before she died, telling him to give it to the love of his life later on. The same ring he carried everyday after their 3 year anniversary of their romance filled rendezvous. As she neared the last step and smiled a smile that lit up the ballroom more than the lively lanterns and giant chandeliers ever could, he began to ponder on why she even loved him.

He was just a lowly Jester, and she was a Princess. She was a person of high importance, keeping political bonds intact, managing the kingdom when the King and Queen were gone, were just a couple examples. And he was just a person there to make the nobles laugh and chuckle with his puns and stunts. What could he ever offer her? What about him was worth breaking the laws and customs for love or marriage?

Nothing but his undying love and devotion, was his answer, but would she even want it? She already had hundreds of Princes and Nobles ask for her hand in marriage, but she always refused without batting an eye. In fact, the Prince of the Western Skies had come and offered half his kingdom in exchange for her hand, but she had refused. The Prince had then offered his Kingdom's entire treasury along with half his Kingdom. She had still refused, and so the Prince left in a fit without Frisk. Sans grin grew a bit wider when he remembered the Prince of Western Skies leaving without any of his undergarments intact thanks to him and Kettei.

As he looked over at Frisk, she looked back at him and they both shared a smile not unlike one that the King and Queen (who were very happily married) sent to each other. Brushing his finger once again against the ring, his decision steeled, and he signed out; "Meet me in the gardens next to the golden flowers at midnight, sweetheart. I have something to tell you." after ensuring that she saw it, he then turned, preparing for the reason of why he was here.

"Hello and welcome to the Princess Frisk Seraphii Dreemurr's eighteenth Birthday ball! I for one am so glad this is her eighteenth! Did you all know that birthdays are good for you? Yeah, the people who have the most live the longest!"

---------------Time Skip to Midnight just 'cause----------------------------------

Sans ran out to the gardens as soon as he was excused, and was not surprised to see Frisk waiting on the old, worn, wooden bench with a lightly blushing face.

"So what was it you wanted to tell me?" her melodious voice rang softly, the rushed words giving way to her barely contained excitement.

Sans didn't respond, he just walked nervously up to her, and cupped her face in his boney palms and placed his teeth on her lips in a chaste kiss. They both stayed like that for a minute, before Sans leaned away from her, and placed his hand in his coat pocket.

"Sans, love, are you okay...?" Frisk started but trailed off, seeing him settling down on one knee, with one hand holding something small and round, glinting in the silvery moonlight.

Her beautiful golden eyes filled with tears seeing the small, but dazzling ring in his hand and she smiled as Sans began speaking.

"I...these years that we have been together have been the happiest in my life, and my mother told me to give this to whomever I loved most, and even if we can't get formally married, I want to be with you for the rest of my life! I know you have other suitors that can give you the world, and I can only give you my love, but I want to be yours, if you will have me..."

Sans blushed a bright cyan and looked down at the ground awaiting her answer.

"...you absolute bonehead! Do you know just how long I was waiting for you to ask me? A long time! That's what!"

Sans looked up to see an irritated but happy looking Frisk looking down on him.

"So... is that a yes?"

"YES! A million times yes! I don't care if we have to run away together, I want to marry you! I love you so much!"

Sans grinned bigger then he'd ever grinned before, and gave a short shout of happiness before placing the ring on her finger and lifting her up bridal style, twirling her around and swooping her into yet another kiss.

Looking down at her angelic and lovestruck face, wearing the ring, he had never been so happy and so sure of himself in his life.

And as the wedding bells rang, and as the groom and the bride (and the exited, ever so loyal Kettei) ran out of the church, smiling and covering their heads from the rice being thrown, and as they climbed to the gilded carriage waiting to carry them to their next destination, Prince Sans Serif Dreemurr finally felt like he was a person worthy of his Princess's love.

And they lived happily ever after.
