8 YEARS LATER

"Wait! Stop!" I yelled trying to chase down the wooden horse drawn carriage. The carriage starts to speed up and dodges the other carriages by weaving right and left. "Gotcha!" I yelled leaping onto the carriage. The driver saw that I made it on and was trying to speed up to make me fall off. I held my ground and slowly and carefully made my way to the driver manning the horses. "Hello" I said hopping down into the seat next to him. The driver growled in anger and threw a punch at me. I leaned back and dodged the punch allowing a moment of opportunity for me.  I grabbed his arm and twisted it, then banged his head into the metal bar in front of him knocking him out.

"What is taking so long? Are we there yet?" The man from inside the carriage asked.

"I'm sorry sir but were gonna have to take a detour through the jail so please don't struggle." I said grinning.

"WHAT!?" The man yelled.  But before he could do anything, I yanked the leash connected to the horses and made them take a sharp turn right.  He lost his balance and got thrown around inside the carriage. "Your not going to get away with this" The man said in anger.

"Look I already have so sit back and get ready for prison life," I said enjoying the fast ride towards the jail.

"We'll see about that" The man said with a ominous tone. All of sudden a whistle noise comes from inside and three carriages start to pull up beside us. "Say hello to my friends" The man said laughing out of control.

One by one people from inside the other carriages were climbing up to get to the roof of their rides and had guns ready for firing. "Holy falafal balls!" I whispered to myself.  I quickly reach for my pocket and pulled out the same gun that used to belong to my dad. I couldn't shoot all the people around me though -- I didn't have enough bullets.  Then I saw the drivers of the separate carriages and I said bingo. I loaded up my gun and targeted out all three drivers and then I pulled the trigger. The first bullet took out the driver to my right making him crash into a wall destroying the carriage. The second bullet took out the driver to my left making his ride stop entirely and creating too much distance between us to shoot me. Finally the third bullet took out the guy behind me who was trying to come to a rushed halt so he wouldn't be shot but my gun.  However, I was too fast and I shot him causing his entire carriage and people on it to flip upside down. I then drove away exhausted and filled with adrenaline.

As I came to a stop at the jail the police stood there wondering what was going on, when the man in the carriage busted out and tried run.  He wasn't too smart because he ran straight into the police. "Hold it right there" A police man said while grabbing and handcuffing the man. "Your Rodrick Alltotone?!  Oooohhh, your going away for a long time."

As they took in the new prisoner the chief of police Drake (a good friend of my dad) walked up to me and sighed.

"What? I took down a leader of a gang and some of his lackies all on my own in a epic fight to the death. COME ON! THAT'S PRETTY AWESOME!" I exclaimed with pride of what I did.

"Look Gold, I've known you since you were a small toddler and I know you want to make a difference after your father disappeared but...." Drake said before I cut him off

"I can't go around serving vigilante justice that could get me, my friends, or others hurt." I said with a bored expression repeating what Drake always tells me.

"Exactly. Now we all appreciate you protecting this town from monsters, criminals, and high gang members like the guy you just brought in." Drake said trying to make me sound like a hero. "But you can be a vigilante, and the only reason your getting away with it is cause I'm risking my neck out there saying I'll get you to keep it down." Drake said looking at me now with disappointment.

"Come on Drake we both know how much bad there is in this world.  The least I can do is try to stop it." I said.

"Fine, if you really want to help that much then let me talk to a friend of mine and see if I can get you enrolled into Witch Hunter Academy.  Before you say anything, yes I'll give an extra scholarship to Rose.  After all you never go anywhere without her."  Before I could respond, Drake turned and walked back into the police station. I sighed and hopped back onto the carriage and drove home.

I finally got back home and I opened the door to hear Rose talking to someone. "Uh? Gold is that you who just entered?" Rose called out from the kitchen.

"Yeah. Who are you talking to?" I asked from the doorway.

"Just the professor of Witch Hunter Academy." Rose said with ease

"What!" I yelled now running into the kitchen. As I ran in there I saw the Professor who was dressed in a purple coat with a gold trim and had sunglasses on. But even with those, I still could feel her staring at me with judgement. She had grey hair and what looked like a cane in her hands.

"Hello Gold, I heard you've been thinking about joining Witch Hunter Academy" The professor said. "And well congratulations you were accepted. You and Rose will start this weekend, that should give you enough time to prepare. So I hope to see you there and here is location of the academy." She said as she handed me a guide of all the things I would need for the school and where it was located. And then she walked out without saying anything else.

"So Witch Hunter Academy. . . I wish you asked me if I wanted to go with you first. But I guess its better then sitting at home watching reruns of Real House Wives" Rose said with a smirk.

"Yeah. I wonder how she knew about the whole Witch Hunter Academy that fast?" I said pondering the possibilities. "Well either way its late. I'm tired after being shot at and taking down criminals. I think I'm gonna go to bed. I'll see you in the morning" I said as I started to walk out of the kitchen.

"Ok, goodnight" Rose said. I headed up the stairs and I walked into my bedroom wondering what Witch Hunter Academy was like.
