A Love Lost

Oh how I wish I could hear these words slip,

From his perfect lips that I once kissed.

To know that he still even cares,

These words from his lips, the only ones I can bare.

For I have already promised to not fall into the trap.

To not even care, so this may hap.

My one true love, may so not be in my grasp.

But to remember that our hands were once clasped,

Gouges out a hole in my fragile heart.

All I ask of you is for us not to be apart.

The dreams and memories of you bandage up my soul,

But yet being with the real you is still irreplaceable.

Like everything else that has once been wounded,

Bandages may heal up the wound,

But a scar will always be left behind.
