I do have a question though. This book sounds a lot like the Chronicles of Nick Series by Sherrilyn Kenyon, I'm not sure if its supposed to be a fanfiction or not?

Definitely correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you just specify if it is a fanfiction or not so you don't get attacked for copyright infringement.
