"Nothing, it was a long time ago. This is now, and now is when you're gonna get your ass kicked by a girl in FIFA," I smile, hoping to break the tension. "Well, there's soccer star Kitten talking big game!" He says, I hear the smile in his voice. "I don't just talk big game, I talk a whole season," I say mocking the commercial and he laughs. His laugh is melodic enough to lull me to sleep, if I wasn't about to kick his ass in FIFA.
I lean back in my chair and breathe. "Nothing like beating your favorite member of Hot Chelle Rae in his favorite video game," I smile. "I'm your favorite?" He asks. "Did you even look at my name Follese?" I can almost hear him nod 'no'. "Well, not exactly," he mutters. "Too late now! I already beat you 5 times!" I laugh. "Well, I'm letting you win. I could beat you if I didn't want to hurt your feelings!" My breath hitches in my throat. "One, you just out-right lied to me. Two, you think that because I'm a girl I can't take a little heat? I'm the star soccer player from my school, and an international youtuber," I say in a lowered, slightly snappy tone.
"That's not what I meant. I'm tired. I-" I cut him off. "Well, it's a good thing I'm going to bed. Maybe you should too," I snap and turn off the game. I lean back and take a deep breath. Here I was thinking that maybe, for once, I found someone who wouldn't bring up the fact that I'm a girl when they lose to me. Luke has never done it, and he's my brother! Everytime I play one of my friends, I always get the 'I'm letting you win 'cause you're a girl!' excuse. I never thought I'd hear some variation of it come from Jamie's mouth. Granted, I never thought I'd hear anything from Jamie's mouth.
I grab my laptop and slump up the stairs, back into my bedroom. I lay down and pull the covers over my head. Suddenly, I feel sick, like, really sick. I run into my bathroom and spew into the porcelain thorne that I find myself in front of. 'No. I can't being go back to this. It's just one person, he didn't even hurt you that much. He just made you angry. Not this again,' I think.
