chapter 7: Information and Secrets

School next day was good. Surprisingly good. Carl wasn't there, which made the whole day a lot better. Jennifer had gossiped a lot about One Direction to me, and I found it surprisingly entertaining. It was fun to find out more about them now that I had actually met two of them.

"Ben and I are going on a date, you and Harry should join us!" she whined.

"Jen, we aren't dating!" I said and took a sip of my Coke.

"Oh, come on, you told me you were cuddling!" she insisted.

"I was practicly on arms length away from him, don't embarres yourself!" I said.

"Oh please, he's totally into you." Jennifer said. "He was probably overjoyed when he found your wallet."

"Oh no, you don't think he saw my credit card photo, do you?" I said worried.

"Hopefully not, I've seen it and it's horrible!" she said.

I let my head fall into my hands the second the school bell rang. I sighed and Jennifer and I went to classes. I had History. My favorite subject. Kidding.

I sat next to Ben (Jennifers gay boyfriend). He was looking suspicious at me.

"What's the matter?" I asked him.

"You look different." he said.

"Good different?" I said hopefully.

"Yes. You look... happy." he said and smiled carefully.

But his smile turned upside down and I looked concerned at him.

"What's the matter?" I repeated.

"I need to tell you something." he said and frowned.

"Mr Moseby, ms Berry, if you dont stop talking I'm going to impair your grades." the teacher, Mr Sackletorn yelles.

I blushed and Ben looked down in his lap.

Mr Sackletorn turned to the blackboard again and continued talking about the cold war.

"I'm gay." Ben whispered. I could see tears almost escaping his eyes. I gave him a little hug.

"It's okay." I whispered.

"Please don't tell anyone!" he said. "Not even Jennifer."

I nodded as confirmation and gave him another little hug.

"But you need to tell her!"

"I will. Soon." Ben said.
