It's not a date

JIMIN;
I didn't think it was possible for someone, a human, to look like art. But yesterday changed my mind.

I've never really been the type to have a lot of confidence, especially with meeting someone new. A stranger pretty much. But she was no stranger. No. She was someone, that I had to get to know better. I felt like I've known her forever honestly. I didn't even think that was possible.
I've read cliche stories about how when the guy meets a girl, they feel a spark. A connection. Like they knew in that moment of meeting they were in love. Well, that's how I felt. Except I wasn't in love. Just yet anyways. I felt that connection though. It felt like me and her had a string connected to each other through our hearts.

Today was the day I was going to meet that girl again. I found out her name was Alexis. But she likes being called Lex for short. She had gorgeous brown eyes. And I mean gorgeous. The kind that if you stared into them, you'd never want to stop. They were dark. Not dark like a black color, no. Dark like a rich, dark chocolate cake. With a hint of gold specks. Dark enough to make you wonder what kind of secrets are they holding inside?
There's a cliche quote that I've always passed. Never really paid attention to it. But this right now, was something that I'm experiencing.
'Brown eyes are just brown eyes, until you fall in love with someone who has brown eyes'
And damn was that quote true.

She has dark brown hair as well. Not as dark as her eyes, but dark enough. It suited her very well.

I was in the hotel room getting ready for today. I put on a comfy cardigan and some comfy jeans, with a pair of Adidas. I wanted to look good, but not overdue it, as if I was going on a date. Just casual enough, but not too casual. My thoughts were suddenly interrupted by voices. "Let's go explore some more New York today!" Jungkook excitedly said. There was a sigh.
"Okay we can but can we at least stick together please? I'm not up for looking for anyone today in this big city" Jin said sounding stern like a dad.

"Fine fine but it wasn't my fault. I'm really excited to be here" Jungkook said while smiling. I had to share a master suite room with the rest of my hyungs. I didn't mind though. We were all pretty much like family, so I was used to the sharing a room.

They were all scattered about. Jungkook was trying to pick an outfit to wear. Namjoon was helping him, while trying to choose one himself. Hobi and Tae were dancing to a song they found on YouTube. Yoongi was sitting on a bed scrolling on his phone. And Jin was being his normal parental self, cleaning up a mess and making sure nobody was ruining anything.

I, however, was in the bathroom fixing myself up. It may have sounded like I was going on a date. I really wasn't. But maybe I was? Nah.
I walked out into the room and Jungkook looked at me. "Ooh getting ready for your date I see?" He teasingly said, smirking a bit.
"It's not a date. I'm just meeting her to hang out really" I said while looking at the mess everyone was making.
"Ah c'mon we all know it's a mini date. Even if you don't think it is, we're happy for you" Namjoon spoke, giving me a pat on the back and smiling. If this is a date, this is surely not the way I'd dress, or even imagine a place for a date to be.
Honestly, part of me wished it was a date. But part of me didn't wanna get my hopes up. I just wanna see how well this goes first.

I looked at my watch, 1:30 pm. I decided to head out a little earlier. I said my goodbyes to the hyungs, they all wished me luck and gave me smiles on the way out.
I called for a taxi and told the driver to take me to Central Park.
Mind you now, Central Park is, well, big. Which is why I decided to leave early. To have some time to look for Lex. I had no idea where she was gonna be. I had a feeling she'd be sitting on a bench by the pond.

After a few minutes of walking, I looked over and there she was. Sitting on a white bench in front of the pond. Waiting patiently. I took a deep breath and started to walk over towards her.
She must've seen me out of the corner of her eye, she looked over at my direction and gave me a small smile. I smiled back and gave a wave. She was dressed in a light pink oversized sweater. But just enough to fit her perfectly. She wore a pair of black skinny jeans, and a pair of flats that tied up around her ankles.

She stood up and looked at me. "Ready for our hangout?" She asked while smiling. Gosh what a gorgeous smile. I nodded "of course I am".
