The curses ran in the Turtledove family for years. Or rather, the fairy godmother who cursed them.
The fairy godmother wasn't evil, nor was she good. She usually meant well when she 'blessed' the family, but the 'blessings' often didn't turn out right. Now, this must be very confusing, so let's start from the beginning.
Once upon a time, before fairy godmothers, humans and fairies rarely mixed. Occasionally the fairies would interfere with humans, blessing or cursing them, and in return humans would help the fairies or hinder them. But then the humans decided that this needed to stop. They wanted to prove how civilized and organized their world had become.
So the humans decided to make a deal with the fairies. Each fairy would be tied to a royal family to gift and bless them as they thought the family deserved, and in return the family would offer protection to the fairy. All was well at first, but throughout the years the ends of the bargain began to blur.
Fairies became jealous when they felt they were not being treated fairly. They cursed the children they were supposed to bless. They did all they could to break all ties with the families they had sworn to protect, but they found that there was no escape. When the good fairies realized this, they created a counterspell to exile any fairy that became evil.
Now we come to Rosemary, the fairy who was neither good nor evil, who had somehow gotten herself tangled in this mess. She simply blessed those she cared for without a second thought. What she didn't realize was that blessings could quickly become curses.
Many, many years have passed, and now a new story begins. The story of Elizabeth Turtledove, the girl who stopped the curses. Or, if you will, the girl who didn't let the curses stop her.

Hello my lovely readers!

I love fairytales, and I've been wanting to write one forever, so I decided to enter the #fcras2016 competition hosted by the FairytaleCommunity , just for fun. The competition is about to end, so I will post the next two parts tomorrow (just in time!). The story and characters aren't as in depth as I hoped they would be, but I kinda have been rushing to write the next chapters in time, so I won't have time to edit a ton.

Please give me tips and point out any errors! I would really appreciate it, and I would love to hear your opinion on my story, as long as it is nice and/or helpful. Thank you so much!

If you are liking my story so far, don't forget to vote and comment! I love getting feedback and it would make my day!

Thanks so much, and have an amazing day! :)

P.S.
Coincidentally, I'm posting this around midnight! It wasn't even planned, I promise! XD
