The Lost Wanderer

CHAPTER 3

RECAP:

The atmosphere changed abruptly. The forest that was lively a few minutes ago was now deathly still. I looked at Sky, not the one above but the one standing in front of me and he whispered-

" They are here...."

FLAME'S POV

"They who?". Before he could answer my question, something jumped out of the bush; no more like crawled out of the bushes.

Well, it wasn't a something as there were many of these things. There were three of these creatures."What are these creatures?" I asked.

"RUN!" And that's what he shouted as an answer to my question and started running away from these creatures. I was still staring at those huge slug like creatures.

They were around six feet tall and had menacing beady black eyes. Their greenish- brown skin was revolting and made me feel like throwing up, plus they oozed out a hell lot of slime. Gross !

When Sky saw I wasn't following him, he came back and started dragging me by the arm into the forest. He shouted something about my frozen ass and how I should be moving it now.

"Run, you dimwit ! Do you want to die here?!" he screeched. "Yes...what...NO! And why are these huge slugs chasing us? Do we look like food to them? I thought slugs were vegetarian." I continued to ramble while Sky ignored me and kept tugging my hand to keep increase our speed.

I turned back only to find those slug-ish creatures were still chasing us and they were nearing us. And here I thought slugs were slow.... actually they are but these were not even the real slugs.

It was really difficult to run through the forest as the path we were taking was really narrow and stony. The forest seemed to turn black due to the absence of sunlight. I was - OUCH!! A branch of some high bush smacked me in the face.

That hurt like hell !

It would definitely leave a mark behind. I almost laughed at that thought. Here we were getting chased by some huge weird slug - like creatures and I was thinking about my face.

"For God sake, run faster!" Sky yelled. I glanced behind and - YAY! I found nothing. No monster slugs following us.

I didn't notice Sky had stopped running as  I was busy  playing hidden objects in my mind. Yes, the hidden objects were those slugs or whatever they were ,and I ended up bumping into his back.

He barely budged. Regaining my balance, I looked forward. Oops.....found the hidden objects....

Our slug - ish friends were standing there hissing. All three of them.

Woah ...never knew that these slugs had razor sharp teeth. They reeked of rotting flesh. Yuck! Ever heard of taking a bath?

Without a warning, the biggest Mr. Slug monster charged towards us. It spat out a green gooey thing towards us. Eww.....double yuck!

Sky dodged the slimy stuff. Thank heavens that he was still holding my hand, I would have been too slow and the slime would have splashed all over me.

And Sky being him, started running in the opposite direction of those monsters. He'd better know where he's heading now.

"Do you even know where we are heading to?" I blurted out while running fast as I could to keep up the pace with Sky. He did run pretty fast as if his pants were on fire. "I know this place like the back of my hand." He replied back confidently. I was running out of breath from all this running.
