FLASHBACK
My hand hurt from writing so much but I didn't let my pen to leave the paper. I continued to put my thoughts on the unfilled lines, that were waiting for me to amaze them with my creative writing. I stucked my tongue out, only a sign of me being extremely concentrated. I was so into the story, that I nearly penetrated the paper with my pen. The vibration of my phone made me lose all my creativity, while it was ringing powerfully. I grasped it in my hands and looked at the screen. Dagger.
I didn't even hesitate to wait and to respond, because in the next second I heard his voice.
"Kid, I want you to help me," Now he worried me.
"Sure, tell me," My heart started to beat with anxiousness as I waited him to say something.
"I need you to go in the hall," I suddenly was confused. But I didn't want to spare any other second because he might be in real trouble. I silently complied.
"Okay. I'm here."
"Good. Now go to the door and unlock it," All my worries vanished in a matter of seconds as I heard his last sentence. I rolled my eyes and snickered.
After I found my keys, I shoved them in the hole and opened the door. My eyesight was welcomed with the sexy teen boy, who was standing like he just got out of bed, in front of my door.
I greeted him in a manner that most girls wouldn't even think of.
"Asshole."
He just laughed at me and engulfed me in a bear hug. I inhaled his scent and the next second I was in heaven. I put my hands around his back, wanting desperately his affection. I let the feeling to overwhelm me, savoring the taste of being protected. I slowly stepped away from him, knowing that if I didn't, I wouldn't be able to control myself.
"So why are you here?" I looked at him with a smile and crossed my arms.
"Ouch. Do I always need a reason when I come to you?" He grinned.
"Yes." I didn't have time for his games.
He gave up and shoved his hand in the pocket of his ripped jeans. After he took out his hand, I didn't expect to see a paper. The silence was torturing me as I let him put the small paper in my cold hands. He suddenly turned his head at right, waiting for me to finish already. I guessed he was embarrassed. What is this all about?
My fingers trembled when I looked at the paragraph. He wrote me something. My eyes took in all the careful written words that he addressed to me.
Thayer,
I know I'm not good at expressing my feelings, but I made the courage to write you this. Don't forget to know that you are the best thing that ever happened in my life. Don't forget that you are an amazing person with a gold personality, with an above average intelligence. Don't forget that you are extremely beautiful and don't let others to take you down by saying otherwise. You are and will be my best friend. I will never let you go, I'd rather die than lose you. But I want to tell you something else as well. I met someone, a girl, a while back. I fell in love with her, and now we're together. By saying this, I don't want you to think that I replaced you with her. Don't forget that ever.
I love you,
Dagger
I sat back and let the happiness soak right into my bones. I wanted the feeling to still be there when I would be old. I closed my eyes and savored the moment, but never released my grip on the seemingly inconsequential piece of paper and ink in my hands. For the first time in forever my body and mind relaxed. In that moment something happened inside my heart.
