On earth there are humans born with special abilities. Their power comes from their ancestors who escaped to Earth during Umbrasolum's first civil war. In the present day they are guided by a group of elders who watch over them. At age 10 these humans are put into groups of six by the elders in their specific area. The grow up together and learn how to control and use their powers.
When the King and Queen of Umbrasolum give birth to a child who bares the mark of the prophecy they must hide her and keep her safe from the other clans. They put a spell over the mark shielding it from view. But when the sorcerer who cast this spell dies just before the child turns ten the King and Queen form a blood oath with one of the Clans who have the power to travel from their World to Earth. This clan known as the Guardian Clan or Walrius bring the child to Earth to be brought up among the humans. But because of her powers they attract the attention of the Elders in that town. The guardians leave one of their own among the elders to be her guardian and mentor throughout her stay on Earth. Despite her age she had been fully briefed on the situation and was told to keep it a secret from everyone. Because they didn't want her to be alone they also let another child from their world stay with her.
The two girls were raised by Daemond and when Daemon fell in love with a human she joined their small family. Daemond cared for the two girls as if they were his own. The two girls were assigned to the same group. The girls went to school as normal but when it came to training they were taught separately and were pushed harder than the rest. This changed when they turned fifteen and Sara became the leader of their group. They began training together but Sara and Amanda still had special training with each council member including Daemond who push them harder than any other.
Sara chose to go to University where Daemond was a professor and Amanda chose to study more about the world they left behind.
This story begins the night Amanda was attacked.
