"So, in order to get you free from the demon, we need to kill its host," Aurora explained pointing to a page in the massive book of demons.

I scoffed. "Yeah, that's if we even get the chance to kill Ace. He's an assassin. A trained killer. Even if we were lucky enough you know for a fact the Venatores would come after us and kill each of us one by one." I crossed my arms and rolled my eyes.

Winter stepped in front of me, giving me a look. "Maybe if you let us finish you'll see why we interrupted your little 'moment' with the hybrid."

I looked down, clearing my throat as the whole room went silent. I looked over to see Giovanni's face burning red, then directly next to him to see Matty's jaw clenched. God, you could cut the tension in the room with a knife.

"Maybe you should take it down about 10 notches," I say stepping foward, closer to her, "and we weren't have a 'moment' we were talking."

"Anyways, we don't have to exactly kill him. We just have to kill him temporarily," Aurora said, rolling her eyes at winter and I.

"How the hells do you temporarily kill someone? I mean once they're dead, they're dead," Aaron asked.

"We use a herb called monkshood. It causes temporary paralysis and slows the heart and breathing to almost nothing. Dead but not dead."

"Wait, that's wolf's bane. How will he not die," Maverick asked.

"Idiot, is he a lycanthrope? It's poisonous but especially to you guys. We just have to get the dosage right, then give him an antidote," Matty said, smacking Maverick outside the head.

"I'm sorry, not everyone can understand your Druid mumbo jumbo like the hybrid over here," Maverick replied, nudging Giovanni's shoulder. Giovanni gave him a dark look, then moved away from him and closer to me.

I looked him up and down, taking in every feature. From the way he stood tall and certain, but still with a hint of insecurity, to the way he pulled at his hair. I took in everything I could learn about him from just his looks. I don't know why he intrigued me so much. So much that I can't even focus when we are in the same room. His scent was something else too. It is indescribable.

"Hey, lover boy," Aurora said, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"We need you to get close to Ace."

"What," I yell, "why me? He'll kill me!"

They can't possibly be serious. One time I saw him at the gas station at night and he literally tried to strangle me to death right then and there.

"Well, obviously you got close to him somehow in order to be marked by the demon. Just do whatever you did before." My face burned at the memory.

"Why are you blushing," Winter said, analyzing me.

Shit.

"I'm not blu—"

"What did you do? You fucked him didn't you?"

"Well, not exactly I just f—"

"God you are such a man whore. Honestly how does one seduce someone who is meant to kill them," Maverick asks, rolling his eyes.

I looked over at Matty, his face blank. Ever since I found out he likes me, nothing has been the same. I feel like I can't say certain things in fear I'll hurt him and this was one of those things. We haven't even talked about it and we can't pretend like it didn't happen.
