Prologue She tied her long red mane up into an intricate plait and placed it into a bun atop her head. She took of her long black laced robe and threw it on the floor next to her feet. The blood filled the black glass bathtub. She turned her stereo on and the sounds of violins blared out of the speakers. She was finally ready for her bath. She sat in the dark red 'water' and relaxed. She soaked herself in the blood, feeling the warm a negative touching her skin. She enjoyed the sweet music playing the high and low notes of the violin filling her ears and soothing her. She placed her hand over the side of the tub and closed her jet black eyes and she watched something in her mind. She saw a brunette woman with the most beautiful brown eyes wearing a lace black gown. This was the woman she had kept envisioning ever since she had been made, 3000 years ago. She knew that she would be destined to meet this woman. She knew that this woman would be hers. She just didn't know when the woman was going to come into her life. All she could do is envision and wait.
Chapter One Nimna opened her eyes and saw her husband. She sat up and rubbed the sleep away from her brown eyes. She tossed the blanket off her and slipped her legs over to the side of the bed. A hand suddenly grabbed her arm. "Where do you think you're going?" Nimna giggled and felt her cheeks turning pink. "To make breakfast for you. What do you want today, dear?" She turned to face him, who was looking down as if he was thinking. "Maybe something that tastes like you." And with one sudden motion, he pulled her back onto the bed with him on top of her. He kissed her lips, then her neck, then her chest, then her stomach, then... "Stop, l can't do this. We need to get up and begin the day." He went back up to face her. He was bothered by her usual abstinence. "What's the point of enjoying marriage if we can't enjoy some good old-fashioned..." Nimna stopped him before he could say the rest of his sentence. "Please don't say it. You know l hate profanities.' He snickered with such sarcasm in his voice. "You don't want me to say it. But, l'll bet you anything you want me to do it." With that statement, his right hand started sliding down. His left hand held her arms above her head, as if restraining her softly. His hands slowed down at her breasts, playing with them for a moment before sliding down even further. "No, we'll get it trouble and then..." Her voice trailed off as his hands was touching the most intimate area on her body. As he went lower, she began to moan with pleasure. His face was smirking with glee. He thought he had gotten what he wanted. "Listen, William. The ball is tonight and l desperately need to get my gown. Remember darling?" His reaction went from self-satisfaction to sudden shock. He had forgotten about the ball that was being held for the new member of town. No one knew about this new person, but all they knew was that this person was aiding the town very well in the financial department. "Oh, l almost forgot. Ok, you win. But tonight after the ball, l am going to make you scream like you never have before. Promise?" Nimna pretended to think about that single word. Promise. She did start to realise that five years waiting was a long time and that maybe she could let her guard down for one night. "Ok, fine. You win. Tonight you might be lucky. Now come on, l need to go get my items for tonight." He giggled softly and got off Nimna. He went to shower and left Nimna to finally get ready for a day in town.
She got out of the dark wood bed and tidied up the blanket. She went to her draws and picked out a bright lavender short sleeve gown with a matching long lace jacket. She tidied her medium length brown hair up into a full top bun. She then put on her usual black boots and was proceeding down the stairs as she called out. "Goodbye dear. I'm going into town this morning. Do you need anything?" He was singing at the top of his lungs, so she felt as though he needed nothing. As she walked down the flight of stairs, she met face to face with Belle, the maid that William had insisted on hiring so Nimna didn't have to work. Belle was five years younger than Nimna and was currently wearing what all the maids were fashioning- a dark grey dress and old black flats. Her hair was tied up into a tight bun. To Nimna, she felt that bun was the only way Belle could even fake a smile. It was her little joke that she never told another soul. "Good morning, madam. Going into town?" Nimna didn't like Belle but she tolerated her. "Yes, l'll be a couple of hours. The ball is tonight. Are you attending?" Belle snorted "Unfortunately l can't. My life is only useful as being a maid. I can't just drop everything to dance in a big dress and heels like you madam." Nimna knew she was being sarcastic, she didn't like it one bit. "You're quite right. How about you come tonight? At least so you can experience what it's like to dance in a big dress and heels." Belle's face lit up "Really madam. Absolute... Oh madam, l haven't anything proper to wear." Nimna did feel partially sorry for this woman, even if she disliked her. "Just go into my drawer and pick out a dress and pair of shoes, whatever you want. But, make sure you are ready by seven tonight or you'll miss out. Just consider it a day off work to prepare yourself." Belle was smiling from ear to ear. Both women heard the shower turn off, and the giant steps of William on the ground above them. Belle pretended she couldn't hear them. "Thank you, thank you madam. I can barely contain my excitement. Well, l will find a gown and all. Oh, you'd better get into town. You wouldn't want to be late on preparation for tonight, madam?" "No, indeed not. Goodbye Belle." Nimna left her house and began to proceed through her small but comfortable town.
