I had been avoiding my anxiety by drinking and hanging out with Daisy. Hayden with class after class these past two days has been too busy to hang around and in a way, I was glad. I needed girl time, where we gossip about cheesy things or go shopping. We've definitely gotten much closer since we met. I was fortunate to find friends so quickly. If there's one thing I'm sure about its that I'm glad to be starting my job tomorrow. It'll give me something to do instead of think so much, and drink so much. Things are heading in the right direction and I've been feeling extra positive despite that all. It's like the universe drugged me with good vibes and I'm feeling the euphoria. I can't stop bouncing off the walls with ideas and seeing things in a new light. It's greatness.
I came home from Daisy's house around 4 am after my buzz wore off. Now 11 am, I sat brainstorming youtube ideas weeks in advance. I had told daisy somewhere in the mix of us getting drunk on her balcony about my idea and she thought it was great. I love how supportive she seems to be of me and I of course thanked her at some point too for inspiring me.
I jump up from my tense state as I hear a knock on my door and place my notebook down on the couch, getting up to answer. To my surprise when I open the door Daisy smiles, holding two to-go cups of coffee.
"Hey, what're you doing here?" I ask as I open the door to let her in.
"I figured you'd be tired and hungover since you didn't really sleep at my house yesterday, well today.. ah, you know what I mean. So I brought you a coffee to brighten your day. Plus I figured I could hang at your place and work on some art? A new place always gives me inspiration." She rambles on, handing me my cup after she finishes. I nod.
"Thanks. I probably really need this right now." I laugh, lifting my cup towards her before taking a sip. Of course its vanilla bean, only the greatest flavor from the gas station. I sigh into my cup and pull out a chair for her to sit down in. She does and pulls out a sketch book and a case filled with fancy art supplies. I didn't expect to be literally gaping when she opened up her sketch book but I was, I am. Her first page was a beautifully detailed sugar skull, and the last before her new black page was a realism drawing of a person I don't know. I didn't realize how talented she is.
"Shit Daisy, you're a really good artist." I compliment, sitting down in the chair next to her and taking another sip of my hot drink.
"How long have you been doing this?" I ask, picking up one of her charcoals and smudging it against my hand a little.
"Since I was 10. I used to love crayon and paper and as I grew up I just switched to pencil, paints, color pencil, you know, the whole works." She laughs a little and pushes her hair out of her face before grabbing her pencil and lightly touching the paper. I leave her be and go to get my phone and brainstorm paper from the couch.
Plopping down and unlocking my phone I notice a new message from Cameron asking if I was busy. I replied a short 'yes, sorry' before putting my phone down and heading back toward the table with my notebook.
"So far I've gotten ghost stories since it's almost Halloween, a q&a, a vlog of LA, and an all about my music taste video. What do ya think?" I ask as she remains focused on her drawing.
"I think those are good ideas. Have you ever done monologues?" She asks looking up at me. I nod.
"You should find one and post it on your channel as well. Then it'll fully be the embodiment of you, right?" She notes, continuing to detail the tree she was working on. I think about it for a second before writing the idea down and closing my book.
"Thanks." I say, getting up again to grab my phone and put my book away.
"No problem. I think you've got the vibe to be really good." Daisy compliments and I blush, hoping that she's right. I'd love to have more friends.
