I spent half the day blowing all my money at target and ross, and cute little furniture shops I found around the area I'm in. It's nice having money and using it for what you want instead of having to give it to someone else. I've been sitting at this pizza shop for an hour just enjoying the weather and my greasy, delicious food reflecting on everything that led me to this point. Today has been successful.I plop the crust back onto the paper plate and toss it in the bin before leaving and heading to where I parked my car. The only bad thing I'll have to adjust to is how crazy people drive in California.
Once I make it home and carry everything into my apartment, I plop on the couch and ponder what I'm going to do for the rest of the day. I sigh out of restlessness and sort through all the things I bought. There was a small pile for new clothes, a pile for bathroom decor and toiletries, a pile for kitchen decor, appliances and utensils, and living room decor. After taking everything to their respective areas, I plop myself back on the couch and sigh out again. Even though I'm incredibly exhausted and still mildly hungover, I'm still running off of good energy. I just needed a minute to relax.
I finally decided what I wanted to do with the rest of my night. I need a night out, and Santa Monica peer seems like a good place to hang out for hours on end. I quickly decided it would be best to walk as I imagine I'll be drinking at some point. It's not that far anyway.
It was a nice and easy walk and I quickly spotted an interesting bar, deciding to make my way inside and see what it was all about. The dim-lit room had a wooden vibe to it, with a pool table in the back. It's definitely just like any plain bar but people seemed to enjoy it. You can tell most everyone here were regulars. I made my way up to the table and sat on a stool next to a harmless looking man and his presumed girlfriend.
"What can I get for ya?" The bartender asks, wiping down the area in front of me. I smile.
"Uh, whiskey, please," I tell the server. He nods and turns around to pour my drink.
"Oof, the hard stuff huh? You doing alright?" The guy next to me states questions. I chuckle and nod.
"Well, it's my go-to drink so there's nothing hard about it. At least, not anymore. I'm doing alright though, how about you guys?" I ask them both.
"Oh yeah? Well, I can out drink anyone." The guy says confidently as the girl hits his chest with a scoff. I smile at them. He seemed to be a bit buzzed. I felt like I needed to get on his level.
"That statement may have been true but you've just met me."
"You're on." The girl laughs while sticking out her hand, I grab it and shake.
"I'm Daisy. This dumb ass, who thinks he's a god, is Hayden." She points to her man.
"Cassie. Nice to meet you, both of you." I smile politely,
"Your drink," The bartender informs me. I grab my drink and take a big sip, Hayden and Daisy watching my every move.
"Keep 'em coming please," I tell him and he nods.
"So, where are you from, Cassie?" Daisy asks, taking a sip of her own drink.
"Arizona, how about you?"
"Well, I'm from San Diego and Daisy is from Oregon," Hayden answers while smiling at Daisy. She nods to confirm.
"How'd you two meet then?" I ask curiously.
"Well, I moved down here around a years ago, and not even 2 months into living here I decide to attend this rave by myself. Hayden was visiting from San Diego for the same rave and we bumped into each other that night. Ever since then we've been together." Daisy recalls lovingly, grasping his hand. I wouldn't peg them as the raver types but then again, most people would peg me for a drunk. It further instills the saying you should not judge a book by its cover.
