The Inside Wolf

Chapter 2

(Alex's POV)

I jumped forward and pinned down the wolf. I don't respect trespassers and I'm not as soft as Sofia. He roles over on top of me and I do the same again to him.

"Who are you and what do you want?" I growled

"I'm Lightwood. I'm from the Wind Whisperers tribe. We have come looking for you." he snarled.

"Alex. It's alright. Let him go," Sofia said in her cute warming voice.

"You're kidding me right," I barked.

"Alex..."

"Fine" I stood up and transformed to my human form just like the others. I crossed my arms and glared at Lightwood. I don't like him.

"Thank you," he sarcastically smiles.

"Shut up!" I snap. He just looks at me and we hold an almost deathly stare.

"Why were you looking for us?" Sofia says smiling at the boys. Eww, they are gross.

"Well, we need your help. We have had alibis spying on Dark Claw because we don't quite trust them and they overheard that they are planning to try and over throw the whole forest, all parts and obtain all the powers. We have been thinking and if our packs work together..." I quickly cut Cam off.

"Work together? With you? You have to be kidding me. There is no way we want to work with you. We can take care of this by ourselves. Now I hope you don't mind but GET OUT OF OUR TERRITORY!!!"

"With pleasure," Mathew turns and begins to run.

"I'm sorry," Sofia says now quite close to Cam, they're body's almost touching. He reaches out and places something in her hand.

"CAMERON!!!" Mathew screams.

"In case you change your mind, or want to hang out sometime." With that Cam turns and runs after Mathew.

I walk up to Sofia as she stares into the distance.

"Can you believe them, unbelievable," I say looking into the same spot as her.

"I can say the same about you," and in a split second she was gone.

I had looked for Sofia everywhere. She was with me one second and gone the next. The last place I have to look is the river. Our land goes beyond the river but only the professional hunters for the pack go there. Sofia and I have been there a few times but only because we are leaders and need to check on and maintain all the areas.

As I go down the path I hear a growl. I run a bit further and hide behind a tree. I see Sofia but she isn't alone. I angle myself to see who the tree in front of me is hiding. JEMIMA AND SASKIA! They are the leaders of the Dark Claw pack, (The one that supposedly wants to overrule the whole forest.

"Would you look at that Saskia. Sofia is all alone. Where is your best friend. Has she left you just like your parents and any other friend you ever had," Jemima barks.

"Haha. Don't take this the wrong way but you are just too nice and soft. Never have been able to do anything or hurt anyone." Saskia barked backing up Jemima.

I try not to growl but they are just infuriating.

"It's none of your business. Now GET OUT OF MY TERRITORY!" I was in shock, Sofia never yells, or at least I have never heard her yell.

"Make me," Jemima smirks.

I watched Sofia. She looked embarrassed and did nothing.

"Just like I thought."

Then out of no where Sofia pounces forward and jumps on top of Jemima pushing her to the ground. Then Jemima roles over on top of her. I let out a loud growl and begin to charge down the hill as Jemima lifts her right claw.  She was about to swing when someone comes out of nowhere and nicks her right into the river. He and Saskia circle each other until Jemima calls for her and she runs over to her side.

"You got lucky Sofia but you won't be next time," Jemima growls and then they sprint of towards the dark part of the forest.

I turned back to Sofia. She had transformed but was still lying on the ground. The wolf was Cam and he was now by her side.

"SOFIA!!!" I scream as I almost fly down the rest of the hill. I push Cam out of the way. Sofia must have knocked her head and gone unconscious. Her left leg was bleeding all over her soft, pale skin.

I turn my head to Cam.
"I thought that I told you to leave."

"I know but I heard Sofia scream and came straight away."

"Thanks but I had this."

"Really, because if I was one second late she would be dead."

"I told you I had it." I look up and see a shadow lurking in the trees. "And what are you doing here?"
Mathew emerges from darkness.

"I wasn't about to leave my best mate with a psycho."

"Jee, thanks."

Sofia begins to stur and she opens her eyes.

"Thanks for all your help but we are fine and we are going home. Do you need any help Fi?"

"I'm fine." Sofia begins to stand up and then fall back down again but Cam just catches her.

"Let me help you get her back." He says putting her in his arms.

"We are fine." I growl and then wolf call. Izzy and Lily come running immediately and help me take her. "See you around boys," I say as we transform and run off.

I hate to admit it but Cam was right. If he wasn't there Sofia would have been dead.
