Chapter 3

Amber's pov

I woke up. I was in my bed. My head was pounding like i had just been punched multiple times in the head.

I hope i wasn't...

I got up and walked to the bathroom. I showered and got dressed into a pink v-neck and denim shorts. As i was putting my hair up my phone rang.

It was a text from my boyfriend Austin.

I forgot how did i get home from the party yesterday if he left. Who brought me home?

The text said

Hey how was the party yesterday??

Oh it was okay

Good well i have to go to my aunts this weekend.

You do? :(

Yeah sorry baby bye ill text you later!

Bye austin.

I put my phone down and decided to just lay loose today.

Lucas's Pov

I woke up. Today the boys and I had a job to do. See I kill people.

Not good people.

My boys and I we take care of the bad gangs around here.

Kinda like superheroes

Anyway we have to kill a gang today but not until later.

I figured I would maybe hang out with Amber today.

Hey Amber!

Hey Lucas

What Are you doing today?

Nothing really just gonna have a relaxing lay loose day!:) you?

Nothing much. I was wondering if we could hang but if you don't want to that's fine.

No no i would love to!

Okay ill pick you up in an hour!

Ill be ready!

I put my phone down and got dressed. I got dressed in a black t-shirt and jeans.

With yellow and black sneakers that match my SnapBack.

I walked downstairs.

"Hey guys I'm going to get amber okay? You promise you won't say anything right?"

If they say anything about my fighting in front of her I will kill them.

"Yeah yeah but dude. I don't know if I like the idea of bringing your girl here. I mean she could get hurt." Tyler said throwing his beer can onto the floor.

"Yeah isn't Martin and his gang supposed to show up today?" One of them said but I don't know who cuz I had my back turned to them.

"He comes at 7. Ill have her home by 4 plenty of time to get a away before they get here." I say "and she isn't my girl. Not yet that is."

I grab my leather jacket and put it on. I grab my keys and walk out the door closing it behind me.

I walked to my car and quickly got in it. I had 15 minutes till I had to be at amber's house and she lived like 10 minutes away.

I started the car and drove to her house.

*Amber's pov*

Lucas told me he was going to pick me up and being me to his place to meet his friends. I wasn't really worried I mean they can't be that bad.

Right?

I started to second guess going to his house, but as I was about to bail I hear a car pull in the driveway.

I grab my phone and walk out to the familiar car.

I get in it and shut the door behind me.

"Hey amber" Lucas greets.

"Hi." I reply back putting my seatbelt on.

"Ready?" He asks.

"Ready"

The ride to his house was fun.

We just talked and every once in awhile we would start singing to the radio. I lost all my worries and i just enjoyed being with Lucas.

I have only known him for a month and i feel so comfortable and not awkward with him.

Weird right?

We pull up at a house.

Im assuming its his.

I get out of the car and walk in the house.

I see 3 boys sitting on the couch when i walk in.

The house smells like cologne and beer with clothes thrown all over.

This is definitely a boys house.

Lucas closed the door and looked The three boys then at me.

"Amber. This is Tyler, Tim, and Billy" he says.

I smile and wave "hi!"

We got outside and sit in lawn chairs. Tyler and Tim are having a conversation and so are Lucas and billy so I'm just sitting here doing nothing.

That's when I hear a car door slam and the boys all tense up.

"Lucas get your girl out of here. Now!" Tim growls looking at austin.

Austin picks me up and runs.

He runs so fast it's like I weigh nothing but a feather.

I have no idea what is going on.

He stops behind the house and puts me down.

"Stay hidden. Stay here." He rubs his finger gently across my cheek "nothing will happen to you I swear. Just stay quiet" he whispers.

He walks away to join the others leaving me here thinking.

What on Earth is going on.
