Finally, I've reached the Atlantic The boat just sat there, in the water, basking in the sun. The boat was not exactly a boat ! It was basically a cabin that floated on water powered by sunlight. On full throttle, with no storms or bad weather (which is something that is a rare thing) I'd cross the Atlantic in 5 days. This was one of the few toys provided by the ISB when I became a Messenger. I climbed into the boat, and made my way over to the Captain's quarters. The control panel was covered in a thick layer of dust. I cleaned it up, kept all my "luggage" in one corner and turned it on with my fingers crossed. I had luck. It turned on, the electric motor humming in the background. I checked all the gauges whether they were in working order, 'cause if I left with something wrong, I had no turning back ! Everything was in fine working order. I looked ahead into the ocean, the water which I would look at for the next few days. It was calm and that gave me hope. I looked ahead and set the course. The boat was mostly automated, except when an emergency occured when the Captain would have to steer. The boat started moving, slow at first, then faster and it gained more speed. I slowly got up and went to my bedspace (a net mattress in the next room) and made myself comfortable. I had rest in a long long while and that felt good !
