"The airing will be at 6. Try to see and hear as much as possible. The Colonel said it will be something important so keep you eyes and ears wide open." said the Chief at the gathering. These sort of gatherings were rare as something important happens very rarely. The last time a gathering was held was when the Colonels father, the great warrior Achumer, had died. That was 6 months back. This must be something important, otherwisw the Chief wouldn't have said it with such strength, thought the townsfolk. Shay had not gone for the gathering. He was also not surprised when his mom came home and told him.
At 6, the people started to connect their radios to hear the announcement. Shay and his mother gathered at his neighbour's house, as only the rich folk had radios in their homes. The Colonels sound was heard and the whole house became silent. He sounded rather cheerful than the usual grudgy voice.
"My dear people, it is my honour to address you all again ! This time I have a rather pleasing news to inform you all. As you all know, the robots have not been letting us communicate to other camps without the fear of getting exposed. Even this very broadcast is a risk. But, I am very happy to announce that now, WE CAN !" All the people either grinned or clapped at this.
"The newest scheme of the ISB, the Messenger program ! A person will be selected through various tests and this person will be the Messenger. Each Messenger will be responsible for transferring mails, money, information and most importantly, papers of importance, from one safe house to another. We, the Colonels, have carefully picked our first ever Messenger. May I present to you, DAVIS HUE !"
