Elly's POV
It's been a few weeks since the day I found out what I am. I've come to terms with it and accepted that I'm not normal. I guess it wasn't as hard for me to take in because well I'm not a regular girl. The one thing I still don't understand is this thing with Jake. I mean he acts really weird around me. Like yesterday when I was doing my chores I would turn around and catch a glimpse of him turning away. You might say, "well he was probably just walking past", but I had the feeling that someone was watching me the entire time and when I'd turn around he was there! Ok yeah now that I think about it I just sound paranoid.
I shifted into my horse form as I got closer to the glade, that I've been spending all of my free time in, working on my new abilities. As I neared the opening of the trees I felt a presence that made my inner horse go on high alert. I've never experienced this before. It's like I want to go find the presence out there and tell them my life story. That's not normal. Right?
Before I noticed what I was doing my feet started picking up speed as I trotted toward the glade. When I got into the open space I noticed a brownish colored blob in the trees. I don't know if my human side was taking more control or what but I dropped my head to the ground and started walking toward the blob. As I got closer I noticed it was shorter than me and seemed to have a very animalistic build. Whatever it is it isn't paying any attention to me, that's good right? Soon I'm about a few feet from it and the animal spins around facing me. All I can do is stand frozen. I take a closer look at what I'm dealing with and when I hear a low growling sound one word pops into my head, wolf. Quickly I jerked my head up and half reared trying to scare off the predator. As my front hooves hit the ground again the wolf steps forward sniffing the air. It started circling me so I stayed put curious as to the change of mood. When the wolf got back to my front it slumped onto its haunches and I could swear it started purring. I realized I didn't really mind its presence and actually I kind of liked it.
You know how they say things are to good to be true? Yeah, they're right. The wolf was gone faster than it appeared and for some odd reason I wanted it to come back.
