So if we were discussing about beauty in the "Why?" Chapter, why not make it a little more detailed?

Beauty.
The quality we royally fucked up in recent times.
What is beauty? Very basic question with infinite answers. Well let's see what google has to say about it-"A combination of qualities, such as shape, colour, or form, that pleases the aesthetic senses, especially the sight."
Really? Is that what real beauty is? We see beauty as something that is adored and admired by everyone and any person who doesn't conform to these attributes is called ugly. We do not even pause for a second before throwing our judgement and opinion at other people.

Is it really that simple? To opine about someone else's appearance without going deeper? Without even knowing the person?

Wasn't beauty a more well-rounded word before its meaning was spoiled?

The real meaning of beauty is still unknown to many. For most, beauty is only the external appearance of the person. The way they look, their complexion, the color of their hair and everything which constitutes outer beauty. The thing that itches me is why people prefer outside beauty and not inner beauty? I know it's not anyones choice to look how they do. I'm sure most of us have read and heard about this same thing a hundred times. So, the question is are we really giving importance to only external beauty? Yes. Most of us do. Even after reading this, I won't be able to change your way of thinking entirely but I guess somewhere in the back of your mind you'll remember this and treat people equally, giving equal chances and opportunities to fair and dark skin tones, black and gray hair, fat or thin body type, small or tall body frame, and so on.

In this present world of technology and every thing advanced, we must remember that-

This is the age of photoshop, where everything is airbrushed and perfectly shown. We think that everyone on those glossy photos are flawless, but they are not. No one looks perfect. Not even in real life. But people do not get that.

This is the age of Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat where showing off perfect bodies is the norm. Where clicking 1000 pictures and selecting the best is what seems right.

Social standards include looking slim and fair. This is why fairness creams still thrive.

People fail to realize that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Beauty is subjective. An ugly person for a million might be the most attractive to one. And that is why beauty is so fickle as a concept. And hence useless too.

There is so much more to beauty than just skin color and hair. There is so much more to a person than just the appearance. The amount of life in them, the grace with which they conduct themselves, the inteligence and passion for what they love- all of these and many more factors also weigh in.

And even if the people outside do not realize it, it is their fault. Because, again, we are too quick to judge. And that is why a person who thinks you are not beautiful should not be given too much importance.

And nor do you have to wait for a person to tell you or a person who will come up. A lot of beauty comes from inside. From being a good person too. And if you are aware that you have a good soul, you really do not have to wait for someone to come and tell you anything.

It's your prerogative to feel beautiful, to be good so that you feel better about yourself. It is immensely necessary for you to find your inner beauty- it is a step to accepting yourself as a person. A step towards loving yourself as you are.

Because there are many out there, pretty faces, who loathe others. I am sure you have met your fair share of these people.

And that is why, in a world like this, beauty takes a whole new meaning. And that is why when you meet and get to know a person well, you cannot but ignore their appearance completely.

Because the concept of outer beauty is shallow and conceited.

And when you bond with a person you expand your understanding of them beyond the appearance.

And suddenly, they seem beautiful.
