A rant about school no one cares about

Now I don't know about you, but for me science is such a useless subject. Now I can safely say that not all things they teach us is useless, but I have my future career dead set, I know everything that I need to excel in to be good at it. One of those things is not labeling a microscope, because yes, that was something that they made us do.

I want to be an author, but a fiction author. My mother (who is just, terrible at being a mom, but I can talk about that another time) said to me "you always have the choice to change your career" and the way she said it was like she wanted me to.

I'm not very good at school, hell if I didn't want to write I would drop out right now. I'm failing a few class and I am never playing the viola after 8th grade. Also, listen to Duke Ellington, because he rocks. My science teacher definitely does not want to be a teacher. All of these things (besides Duke) make me straight up want to quit.

So I give no fucks if I science, or orchestra, or gym (gyms fucked up in it's own way) because they do not matter to me. They will never effect how I live my life later on. Also, maybe check out boyinaband because he summarized the school system pretty well.

Now, another issue. Language. They expect us to, on top of homework almost every night, projects, class work, all of which is spread out in different places which makes it even harder to find, to learn a language.

I'm taking French, another thing I plan to drop after 8th. Not even because the French teachers are borderline insane. The language sucks. It's nothing special, but because I expressed that at the end of the year last year, guess what fucking language I'm taking this year.

In gym they said they were trying to get us fit, and I don't understand why they feel the need to do that in a learning environment, but they fail pretty bad. Last year I had gym and at the beginning of it I weighted 89 pounds. At the end I weighted 100. Great job at getting me fit, huh? And plus, they grade us on how "fit" we get, which is stupid.

So I'm calling bullshit on the school system, and I will continue to do that until the shape up. And no, shaping up does not mean "oh, let's give the students iPads and make the end of the year test on there" (Georgia milestones are fucked up and do not work at all).
