Week: October 10 - October 16
Word count: 647
Words to be used: Cat, Phan, Teddy Bear, PlacentaThe sun was getting lower with each minute, and Phil couldn't wait to go to the annual Halloween festival. He stood at the bottom of the stairs waiting for Dan, who'd been getting his costume ready for what felt like a full hour to Phil. Dan had insisted on having his costume be a surprise, and Phil was dying to know what it was.
The stairs creaked under Dan's steps as he made his way to the first floor. He wore a yellow onesie that had a hood with ears covering his head; over the onesie he had a bright red tee shirt. Tonight was one of those special occasions in which Dan didn't straighten his hair, and it went well with his costume. He even had a blue bucket with the word 'Honey' written on it in white chalky paint to contain the candy he expected to get.
Phil smiled at Dan's costume, and ushered him out of their flat and into the streets. They stepped outside, greeted by the crisp air and the sound of leaves crunching underneath their weight. They stepped into the taxi Dan had called, getting an odd look from the driver. "A vampire and a teddy bear? I don't think I've seen a mix like that before," the driver chuckled, making small talk as he drove the boys to their destination.
Beside the entrance were multiple stands, each selling their own product or service. The first was an older lady with her two daughters, sitting underneath a board that read 'face paintings'. Dan dragged Phil over to the sign, excitedly approaching an activity that reminded him of his early childhood. "What can I paint for you two? A moth? A cat's whiskers? Maybe a heart?" The older lady offered. Phil looked at Dan, wondering what he would ask for.
"I'd like a placenta on my left cheek please," he said casually. The poor lady was left with her eyes as big as the moon, and her jaw hanging down to the floor. Phil gasped and took Dan by the arm, pulling him away from the stand as he desperately apologized to the traumatized woman.
"Dan! I can't believe you just said that!" Phil exclaimed as he shook Dan from the shoulders. Dan just laughed, causing Phil to do the same.
"Did you see the look on her face? It was priceless!" Dan exclaimed, his expression changing to shock as he looked over Phil's shoulder. "Shit! Phil c'mon, I think she called security on us!" Dan nearly yelled as he pulled Phil by the arm and ran. Poor Phil nearly pissed his pants at the thought of getting in trouble by security.
Dan shoved his way through the sea of people, trying to lose the security guards. He had to admit, it was pretty funny that she called security on them for saying the word "placenta". Maybe next year he'd go around saying it to all the people with stands and try to get banned.
Dan lead Phil to the fence that surrounded the festival, hoping that security had finally stopped following them. If Phil wasn't so out of breath, he would have yelled at Dan for making him run that far. Dan could have at least carried him; after all, it was Dan's fault they had to run.
"I nearly tripped on a cat trying to get away from those guys! They should tone it down a bit, all i did was say placenta. I bet that lady lied and said we stole something from her to get them to chase after us," Dan said.
"I bet this place is boring anyways, let's just go back home and watch horror films," Phil suggested. He really just wanted to leave because he was afraid of actually getting in trouble, but he wasn't going to admit that on his first date with Dan.
♡♡♡
This isn't my best writing, but I wrote this in like an hour because I completely forgot I was supposed to do it. I get the words from my followers on Instagram (@silverrosephan), but if you want to suggest words for me to use next week, comment on this paragraph.I also didn't use the word phan, but I did write it about Dan and Phil so hopefully that'll be enough to make you guys happy 😊
