Summer time! Best time of the year and to make it better you were spending it on the beach with a good friend at her cousin’s beach house. Party, probable not, to be honest you would rather spend your days tanning and skate-boarding. Your friend however had a different idea. You had mentioned how you wanted to learn how to surf and now? She wasn't going to let it go. She was determined to teach you how. Only one problem, she couldn't surf all that well, nor was she the best teacher.

You were currently in bed trying desperately to ignore your friend June's screams for you to get up. Tired and bruised you had no desire to get up any time soon; surfing was kicking your ass. You groaned as she kicked open the door to your room, her loud voice seeming to echoing off the walls. She yanked the covers from you. "Come on Kallista," she said stomping her foot in fake anger. Opening your eyes slightly you glared at her. "Mallory," you corrected her. While Kallista was your first name everyone called you Mallory and she knew that.

"Don't give me that look," she warned. "We have to practice," she said clapping her hands. You looked her up and down wondering how you put up with her hyper bubble incredibly girly ass. She pouted at you. "Don't look at me like that," she whined. Did you mention bipolar? You sighed rolling out of bed knowing she wasn't going away. She smiled brightly happy again. "Great put your bathing suit on and meet me out side!" with that she was gone bonding down the stairs. You stretched and did your thing, getting ready.

Once down stairs instead of heading out to the beach like you knew June wanted you bee lined for the car. "Hey," she shouted. "Where are you going?" One word was all that had to be said for her to understand, "Coffee." She made an O shape with her mouth before jumping in the car with you. After driving to the nearest coffee shop and getting your "Fix" and some food you headed back to the beach house. You spent 30 minutes tanning before finally giving in to Junes please and demands, grabbing your surf board and heading to the water with her.

There was plenty of people on the beach and you were not to happy about doing this. The last thing you wanted to do was wipe out in front of a lot of people. However June wasn't taking no for an answer. You and June waded out into the water, she was rattling off instructions but you were paying more attention to a hot guy floating on his board a little piece away. "Stand-up," June shouted. Snap back to reality and you were headed straight for a wave.

You pushed yourself up quickly to a crouched position but it was no use. The wave hit you hard and underwater you went. You felt the leash to your board tug before it snapped. The water pushed you down and the board came up hitting you hard on the side of the head. The pain caused you to take in a sharp breath with out thinking. Cursing not only yourself but also June you tired to swim but between the pain in your head, the water searing your lungs and the strength of the water pushing you under it was no use.Panic was starting to set in as you got light headed and felt yourself fading. The feel of arms around your waist was a welcome relief but it was to late, your eyes closed.

Voices, June and male voices you didn't recognize. Someone pushed down hard on your chest before warm lips pressed against yours forcing air into your lungs. The new oxygen forced the water from your lungs and you started choking. Coughing up water you tightened your eyes closed from the sting. The voices got loud, excited. Someone was behind you setting you up and patting your back, forcing more water out.

Placing your hands around your throat, trying not to vomit; tears filled your eyes as you continued to gasp for breath. "Mallory," June said in a panic; hands on your face. "Kallista," she said louder. You opened one eye as a few tears fell and glared at her. "Mallory," you corrected her with a smile. She smiled brightly right back before engulfing you in a hug. As you fell backward you expected to feel sand but instead you were pressed against some ones chest. June pulled away from you turning her attention to whoever was behind you. "Thank- you so soo much," June gushed getting teary eyed. A nervous laughed emanated from behind you. You blushed as you noticed the people standing around all of them watching you; as if waiting for you to do a trick.
