The cold damp floor was tough against my feet. My breathing steady. In and out. In and out. My hair flicking around my face leaving me with the urge to scratch where it had just flicked.
The trees past in a blur of brown and green. The floor I could barely see underneath my feet. It was a blur of brown. My rocks dung into my skin whenever I hit one on my foot. My eyes darted around looking for that familiar trail.
I slowed to a stop my breathing still steady, as if I had been walking the whole time rather than running at a pace faster than a jet.
I was walking now. Looking out for any sign. There it was! The huge grave stone, marked with 'R.I.P. The Queen of Darkness, Countess Harriett.' That was my mum.
I walked around it and started running once again, I passed the pine trees slower than usual just to make sure that I was heading the right way; I was.
"OPEN THE FUCKING DOOR ALEXANDER!" I screamed at the top of lungs as I reached the huge wooden doors that let us into our castle.
Our castle was about 300 hectares. It has 3,000 vampires all together- including, ground staff, maids, and my father's guards (he has at least 1,000.) There were three parts to the castle. Maid and servant quarters, Guard quarters- which happens to be extremely close to my father's room- and royalty quarters, where my brother, sisters and family relations and I slept.
There was a huge wall around the castle, grey and made out of sandstone. It was at least 10 meters high and it also had sharp iron tips on top. The wooden doors, which are the entrance to the castle are nearly as high.
"OKAY!" My brother screamed, clearly annoyed with me.
The huge wooden doors slowly opened with my brother pulling them open with great difficulty- especially for vampire
"Man, you're a weakling." I said walking through the doors. My brother stopped and glared at me. I walked over to the doors and pushed them easily back into there original spot.
"Easy!" I said smiling at him, he just glared.
"Fuck you." Me muttered underneath his breathe.
"I heard that!" I said sticking my rude finger up at him.
I walked into the grey stone paved courtyard, and over to our quarters- royalty.
The courtyard was basically where you could enter all the quarters. The three quarters were a diagonal face in to the vampiric thrown- a large chair made out of pure gold with large red pillows and a huge ruby on top.
All the quarters look the same except on the royal quarter there was a crown, on the guard quarters was two swords crossing each other, and on the servant quarters was nothing... poor them.
The quarters were six story building made out of the same material of the wall- grey sandstone. There was very few windows and only a pair of frosted glass doors would give any idea that you could actually live in it.
I walked through the frosted glass doors and into a dimly lit room. Red shaggy carpet was soothing to my bare feet.
There was a muggy fog in the room, Jackson was smoking.
Jackson was my eldest brother he was 4,000, my dad was 500,000- the eldest vampire so far. Jackson smoked, a lot. He loved a good cigar and has gone around the world to find the best. Failed though.
Jackson had white bleached hair- vampires don't get greys... YAY! He had emerald eyes, like my dad, and super red lips. He is kind of a minx. He has heaps of 'friends' over and then they some how end up 'doing it.'
"Oh Jackson... no more please." A girl giggled... another one of his friends. I just walked past the door where I heard the noise, and walked up the stairs. I got to the second floor, basically my area.
On the second floor, was my study, my guest bedroom, my bedroom, my game room and my living room. ALL FOR ME! He he.
I went into my black bedroom. All of the items in my room are black, including furniture. I had a black, queen-sized bed, and a black bedside table. I had a been bag which was also black as well as a grand piano. I had an ensuit, which was paved with black tiles and black furnishings.
I sat down at the stool of the piano. I put my fingers on the keys, not playing though. I imagined when my mum would play.
How her fingers slid across the piano gracefully, gently. She played so well, so smoothly. She loved my piano, it was actually her piano, she gave it to me. She tried to teach me how to play- and I learnt quickly. Playing piano made her happy, joyful.
Whenever she played she would smile. Whenever I would play she would smile.
I pushed the 'C' key down letting it ring through my room. I pushed the 'E' key. I started to play 'Fur Elise.' I was playing it incredibly lound pressing hard on the keys. Tears started rolling down my eyes, from the memory. I played it louder and louder until I couldn't hear any other noise apart from my piano.
Suddenly, the door of my room flung open. There was Jackson, with no t-shirt. I looked up from the piano. My eyes were red, from crying. Jackson looked mad, but then his face turned to pity. He came and sat on the piano stool.
"Hey, whats up?" He said hugging me to his chest.
"Mum..." I muttered crying.
"We all miss her, those freaking humans are dickheads." He said rubbing my shoulder. My tears rolled down my cheecks. I wasn't supposed to cry- I was supposed to be a heartless monster... well...
An angry blonde bimbo walked into my room. She was wearing Jackson t-shirt with socks.
"Not now, Shirley." Jackson said looking up.
"But Jackson..." She was about to finish,
"Get lost, Okay?" He said angrily. The girl crossed her arms, I just smirked. She walked away
"You won't be getting any more from me!" She screamed as we heard the huge wooden doors of the castle open.
"You okay?" He asked. I weakly nodded.
"Okay, bye." He said shutting the door slowly and quietly.
I began to play softly, slowly random notes. I sighed. Stupid humans, if I ever see one I will kill it on the stop.
I got up from the piano and walked down stairs with a book called 'Vampires, Fact or Fiction?' I sat down at the dinning room table- I mean the dinning room table that everyone shares. And started reading.
"SHE IS GOING TO SCHOOL AND THAT IS FINAL!" I heard my father scream. I walked over to the door where the bickering was happening.
"She wants to kill every human she sees! Going to school will just give us away!" I heard my brother Andrew say.
"She is going to high school and that is final! So go tell her!" My father said walking out of the room. I had quickly ran to where my book was sitting on table and turned to a random page. My father walked up the stairs, probably to go to his room. My brother came gloomily out of the room where they were bickering.
I looked up.
"Hey." I said smiling, he looked up at me and sat next to me.
"Hey, I need to tell you something." Shit... Shit... It was me they were talking about. I pretended to know nothing.
"What's up?" I asked trying to stay calm. I had to go to school with humans! HUMANS! MORTALS! PEOPLE WHO KILLED MY MOTHER!!
"You have to go to school, like normal school. Dad thinks it'll be educational experience also to get the upper hand in the war... well... kind of war." He said in a quick blur of words... I smiled an evil smile at him.
Revenge will be sweet...
