                                                                PROLOGUE

Long ago, there was a time of great peace called the Silver Millenium. Its ruler was not a king, but a kind and just queen who will take the name Serenity upon ascension to the throne. The royalty of the Silver Millenium are the only Lunarians that have the ability to wield the Ginzuishou or Imperial Silver Crystal. The current Queen of the Moon has a daughter named Princess Serenity whose true name is Beryl. Princess Serenity is unlike her mother. She will exploit anyone that she can for her own personal gain. There are conspiracy theories that she is not the true heir to the throne, and that the real Princess Serenity is in hiding somewhere. Of course, nobody takes these theories seriously. But what if they aren't the wild thoughts of delusional old men?

A blonde haired girl in a patchy maid's dress is seen running through the Palace of the Moon Kingdon. It looks like she is late for something important. That assumption is proven true when a shout of "USAGI!" is heard throughout that Wing of the Palace. Oh dear, the girl thinks, dashing as fast as she can go in the palace to where she hears her name. What does he want now? The girl's name is Tsukino Usagi, and she is a palace maid for Queen Serenity of the Moon Kingdom. She slows down a little and picks up her thoughts where they had left off. Well, I may be overreacting. But my name gets made fun of a lot. Rabbit of the Moon? Seriously? Whoever named me definitely has a sense of humor.

"USAGI! Get in here NOW!" is heard again, but this time, it seems much more agitated than before. Oh, right! I'd better hurry! I don't want to g-WHAM! She falls to the floor in a heap, groaning and expecting to be yelled at.

"I am so sorry for bumping into you!" she says in a hurry.

"Oh, it isn't a problem miss." a deep baritone voice says. Usagi looks up, blushing a bit from embarrassment, and then meets the eyes of the most handsome man she had ever seen. While the young man is speaking, Usagi stares up at him, thinking. He has dark ebony hair that is kept short, and it is slightly wavy. The style definitely suits him. But his eyes... oh, his eyes are the exact color of Earth's oceans, and I can just sink into them...

"U-SA-GI! HURRY UP BEFORE I FIRE YOU!" This time, the mysterious voice sounds angry enough to punch a hole in the wall.

"Oh, I've got to be going now, sir! Sorry for bumping into you!" she says quickly, with a blush evident on her face.

"You don't have to apologize, miss, but I wanted to ask you something," he quickly says.

"Sorry, I've got to go!" she shouts behind her, rushing off in a great hurry, leaving the dashing young man behind.

"But I never got your name..." he whispers softly.
