Chapter 3
I look around nervously. This isn't making sense. Why would this crazy stranger from the up want to talk to me?! Why is Shen gone? I just want to curl up into a ball and cry.
The strange man leads me outside and around the corner to an alley.
"Listen Terra your not safe here" I glance around nervously.
"Why?" I ask
"I can't tell you right now but you just have to trust me" I don't want to trust him. I'm getting a bad vibe from all of this.
He gestures for me to follow him. I take a few steps, then turn around and bolt away.
Before I get far, he is there again. Right in front of me. But how? No one can just appear. No one.
"Terra we already have Sammy now please, just trust me"
"What about mom?"
"Unfortunately your mom has passed away." His words slam into me like a train. Mom, gone? No this isn't possible this isn't right! I gasp and crumple to the floor. The sobs tear through my bones like axes. How could I have let this happen?
"Go away" I scream. He doesn't.
"I know this is hard for you but you have to come with me" He picks me up by my arm. I don't have it in me to fight against it.
Drearily I slug along. Grief tearing through me. Eventually we reach a black van.
"In you get" he says.
He pushes me in. Along with his hand I feel a sharp prick into my arm.
"Mommy I feel sleepy" But a strange man responds. Not mommy.
"I know, just go to sleep" Drearily I drift off.
