Chapter 17

Jax starts to lean in close, but Bianca backs away.

B: Jax, we can't.
J: Why?
B: I'm with Alya and you're with Kit. I'm sorry.
J: Yeah, you're right. I better go.

Jax leaves, and Bianca sits on her bed regretting what she said.

Miles was sitting on the couch eating Oreos when there was a knock on the door. He got up to open it, and it was Alya.

M: Hey Alya.
A: Can we chat about something?
M: Yeah, sure. Come in.

Alya walks in and sits on the couch. Miles sits next to her, and she noticed the Oreos.

A: May I?
M: Yeah, sure.

Alya grabs a few cookies.

M: What's up?
A: I looked through your mom's stuff like you asked me to, and I came across a birth certificate.
M: I already have my birth certificate.
A: This was another one. She was born when you were 2 years old.
M: Huh?
A: Do you know who Melanie Lennox is?

Miles sat there speechless.

At the Dunn house, Kit, Scarlett and Ms Dunn were at the kitchen table planning the funeral of Mr Dunn.

Ms D: Uh, Scarlett.
Sc: Yeah mom?
Ms D: I need to talk to your sister privately. Mind stepping out for a second?
Sc: Sure okay.

Scarlett left the kitchen.

Ms D: So, there's something you should know about your birth family.
K: What's that?
Ms D: It turns out you have a twin brother name Kaleb.

Kit was completely speechless.

K: Really?
Ms D: *nods* Yeah.
K: Have you met him?
Ms D: Yeah, I have. He was in a foster home, and they were terrible people. I was thinking about adopting him. What do think about that?
K: Yeah, sure.
Ms D: Great!
K: Scar, we know you're listening.

Scarlett came from behind the counter.

K: What does she have to say about this?
Sc: I'm fine with it.
K: Really?
Sc: This is important to you, so I'll be fine with it.
K: *smiles* Thanks sis.

The three of them hugged.
