I woke up with a really bad headache. Ugh. Monday mornings piss me off. Today was my 17th birthday, and I was NOT excited at all. I mean, every birthday I have had so far, I couldn't even invite any of my friends. Sometimes I even wish I wasn't a princess. I know, I should be grateful that I'm not homeless on the streets, but it just bugs me that my maids and my mom can be so strict.

I yawned as I got out of bed and almost fell as I was walking. I scratched my head, and I could clearly tell that my tint blue hair was a tornado. I looked around my room questioning why I even got out of bed in the first place, when I heard a knocking at my door.

"Ma'am, your birthday breakfast is ready for you in the dining all!" My eyes then fully opened. "Oh shit!" I said under my breathe. I learned to swear quietly cause the maids didn't like my "choice of language." I scurried to my humongous wardrobe and picked out the simplest dress. I don't know why my mom got me all of these fancy clothes, when I don't even wear half of them.

I quickly got dressed, fixed my hair a bit, and didn't even bother to put makeup on. I just wanted food. I rushed to the dining hall, but walked when I saw my mother. I sat down across from her, while she glared at me. "Ahem." My mom cleared her throat. "Moon, you were supposed to wake up 5 minutes early, but you didn't" She said in a proper voice.

"Yes but, it's MY birthday so....." My mom gave me a dirty look. "So, that doesn't mean that you will NOT follow your schedule." I looked down to the floor and thought to myself. "Why does she have to make my life so fucking miserable? Why can't I have at least 1 break? Ugh. Drives me INSANE."

"Queen Heinous, your pancakes." Maiden Abbithet placed the roasting hot pancakes on the table. "Princess Moon," She gently placed 5 pancakes in front of me. This made my mouth water. I instantly dug in, but looked at my mom who still glared at me. I rolled my eyes as I ate the "proper way." Boy, was this going to be the most boring day ever.

*Night time*
The grand birthday ball was happening in about 5 minutes, and I wasn't even ready yet. I didn't even want to get ready. So, my mom sent in a maid to do all the work. While Maiden Abbithet was doing my hair, I was thinking about who was going to be there at this grand party.

"Hey Abithet? Aren't the monsters going to come to this party as well?" Abbithet pulled back my hair as I cringed with pain. "Yes dear, and this is the first time we have had a new king. The old king died at such a young age, and the prince filled in." I was suddenly curious about this new king. "How old is he? And what's his name? I could tell Abbithet was thinking hard.

"Oh, he's probably your age, 18; I think his name is...... Toffee?" I imagined this monster in my head. "Toffee" what a strange and cute name. It reminded me of the candy. Maiden Abbithet finished my hair with a giant bow. "There. All finished." She excited my room quickly as she went to tend to other things.

Sigh. I looked at myself in the mirror. I have to say, Abbithet did a pretty good job with my hair. But that didn't change my mood. I really didn't want to go to this ball. The only thing I was interested in was this "new king." I still couldn't believe he was only eighteen. That sent shivers down my spine. Soon I was going to be queen, and wasn't prepared at all. All my mother had taught me was boring lessons that made no sense. Man, I just realized she didn't teach me at all when I was 14 or 15. She still looked at me like a child. If I had children, I would teach them at a young age so they could be prepared.

I walked out of my room and into the ballroom. It was packed full of Monsters and Mewmans. I hid behind a curtain so no one could see me. I watched as the Mewmans were on one side of the room laughing, while the monster side of the room were glaring at the mewmans. I always wondered why they weren't together. I remember one of the maids tell me the story of how mewmans and monster loved each other very much. Some would even MARRY each other. All that soon started fading away and as soon as my mother took control, then everything changed. Now instead of really loving each other, they acted like they HAD to be acquaintances. Some would get into fights, and the peace treaty would ALWAYS be brought up to make them stop. Plus, marriage or love between a mewman and a monster was now forbidden.
