The peculiar boy catapulted out of a bed (and out of a terrifying dream), a bed that was not his. The boy studied himself in the mirror on the wall, to see the dream that the serpent changed into a boy was not all that different from what he was seeing in this mirror that was not his own he saw a young boy age of fifteen with black hair and deep dark purple tints he had pasty white paper skin that felt cold to the touch, as if he never felt the sunlight beat upon his skin. His eyes were a sicking gold and purple color that made anyone want to scream 'Monster!'. He fell backwards as if someone had pushed him down to the floor, ¨How can this be happening! I must be be dreaming, or going mad!¨the snake whimpered on the rug, " .... How?..... How!?"This snake has a name, his name is Nagani(if you don't know how to pronounce this, Na-Ga-NI), he was a prince. Now the brave prince was a huge mess of broken pieces. Terrified of this new reality, andof himself. Nagani picked himself up off the floor and wiped ice cold tears from his gold-purple eyes. He walked over to the closet to pick out some clothing. He looked through the closet of clothing and pulled out pants that were the color of mahogany, a shirt that was cream colored, a vest that was a plum color, and some shin-high brown boots. Nagani walked around the residence and found all the surprises that Caelum found herself, including the pots and pans. The pots were cooking up a storm. Pots were boiling and pans were sizzling ham. The aroma of fresh vegetables and spices polluted the room. "Who could possibly eat that much! It's like we're having a party" Nagani said out loud.
"You said it kid! Not me." said a voice from the open pantry door. Nagani walked by to see a large grey tomcat looking through the spices.
"B-but, you're a cat!" Nagani said, " You can't talk!"
The large tomcat jumped down and transformed into a mid-aged man in a chef suit with silvery grey hair and steel eyes. "Bu-but, your a snake you can't talk!" he answered mockingly. The tomcat sat him down, " Name's Tommy Digger, Tom for short."
"Nagani, Prince Nagani."
The grey tomcat sat Nagani down on a rickety old stool in the kitchen.
"So, How'd you find this place anyways?" the tomcat asked.
"Tom, Can I call you that?" Nagani asked, while Tommy nodded, "To be completely honest, I don't have the faintest idea either. All I know is that I woke up from a terrible nightmare here, in this monstrosity of a human body."
" What? So you mean that you don't actually look like some pretty boy moron? That's good to know prince!" Digger said slyly
"I'll have you know kitty cat that i am a prince of a wealthy royal family of snakes that can have you're neck in the guillotines in two seconds flat." the boy with gold eyes protested.
Tommy Digger sighed and chuckled to himself. He thought 'Gee, this kid is really something, yelllin' at me like i'm one of his "Loyal Subjects" What a riot!' he continued on cooking turning the magical pans back to normal ones. He took out some eggs from a carton and cracked them on a hot pan with butter.
Nagani sat in silence, thinking quietly ' who was that girl in my nightmare?' he thought of the girl with the ice blue eyes, the color of aquamarine in the sun, and long blond hair down to the base of her back. He needed to find her he needed to apologize to her he had no idea why he had this urge but he had to get rid of it. He finally decides to talk.
"Tom, there's this girl I've been seeing," Nagani is suddenly cut off by Tommy.
"WHOA! WHOA! WHOA! Hold your horses there, heart-breaker. Is she blond or brunette?"
"She's a blond and she has blue eyes anywa-- " Nagani got interrupted again,
"She sounds like my type...do you have her number by chance?" Tommy said teasingly
"WERE NOT DATING, I SAW HER IN MY NIGHTMARE YOU SCRUB!" Nagani screeched, red-faced and infuriated with Tommy's conduct to him.
"Gosh, that hurt!" Tommy put on his hurt face, "What does she look like anyways? Not to prod or anything."
"It's fine, I just hate when people talk over me and interrupt me." Nagani starts to describe her, "She has long blond hair down to her waist, beautiful crystal blue eyes, and olive tanned skin."
Tommy was nodding while Nagani was explaining her description and appearance. It went late into the afternoon, the once pale blue sky was now shades of blood orange and light warm candy pinks. Tommy went to the cellar to prepare dinner for the new guest. The cellar was damp and dimly lit. Sometimes there was mice that would nibble and snack on the potatoes and other produce. Tommy would be sure to chase them away and make sure they don't come back. Sadly, they always come back because they all had the courage of a lion. Tommy felt his skin start to develop goosebumps as he went descended down the lichen and moss covered stone stairs as he approached the pitch black veil of the cellar.
Zzzip....Fwoosh
Tommy lit a match, the glowing ember was enticing and warm in the darkness. He took the match and lit a oil lantern, he took it by the handle and walked into the large cellar.
