An array of horse posters lined up against a white wall. Navy blue breeches and a bright blue polo top lay along a messy bed. Ribbons and little pictures were scattered along a little table. Evelyn woke up to the beep of a loud alarm. I am really not in the mood for this, but I guess it means I have to get ready. I thought. I grabbed my phone, and changed into my riding outfit. "Where is my hairnet?" I sighed. "MOM! Have you seen my hairnet?" I say annoyed as I yell downstairs. "No, do you need it?" mother hollered back to me. "YES mom, I do. Everyone else has one, and I cant really wear my hair down. It gets in my eyes!" "You may as well just have to Evelyn, you can live one day." This got me annoyed. You see, there is only one girl at the academy, besides the younger girls, that wears her hair with no hairnet. She was quite short, and looked younger. She wore a braid or two usually with bows. Her name was Finch. I never knew why her parents named her Finch. But Finch isn't the problem. All of the taller, prettier riders would wear their fancy clothes were my problem. My biggest problem was the barn snob, Ruby Stone, and her little friends Amber Foxwell, and June Smith. They always find a way to get under your skin. My best friend, Nala Grey, was always there for me. But sadly, she was a victim of Ruby and her so called squad. Everyone looks up to her except for me, Nala, Finch, and maybe some more. "Why am I stressing over how I look, its just a hairnet. Calm down Evelyn." I whisper to myself. I guess I just didn't want to fall into Ruby's trap. Not today. I tried tucking my hair up into a bun and squeezing my helmet over my head. I pulled on my boots, and I walked out to my moms little red car. It was really old, im surprised it still worked. I kind of get scared when we drive it, but it has to be mine when I drive, so I guess I had to get used to it.
