"Have you gone mad?!" Someone shouted, "We agreed no killing!" The person raged on.

Now it wasn't just because there was only one person shouting why I could hear clearly. I knew that voice.

And I refused to believe that this person was involved in my Kidnapping. No, he was here to rescue me, surely.

"Clean this up?" Another man ordered. I listened as various footsteps moved about the deck, after a few minutes I heard a large splash-something very heavy was thrown overboard. And I didn't need my imagination to know what or rather who it could be.

"Wait here, I'm going to check on her."

I bent down to grab the peeler, but decided against it- l will only have one opportunity to use it and i can't waste it-save it for the opportune moment.

The door swung open and I saw the face I dreaded seeing. I preferred it when he was just a voice-because then I wouldn't have confirmation. But I stood facing him, had I really hurt him that much that he's resorting to such drastic measures.

"Hello Claire."

"Marc...please tell me that you're not behind this."

"I'll be honest with you Claire, it was not my imagination that spark this endeavour but once I heard it-i just couldn't resist." I wanted to peel that smug smile off his face. Any love that I have left for the man was gone-how could be do this. How could I not see that this was the type of person he was.

"So now you plan to kill me because I left you at the altar? I mean seriously Marc, the world is filled with much bigger problems."

"Kill you? What makes you think I would do such a thing," he stepped closer backing me into the table, "I love you Claire-all I've ever done was love you."

His hand had barely touch my cheek before I felt the hard sting of his palm on my cheek.

"But you had to ruin it all by fucking Nate!! My best friend Claire-how terribly cliche of you." Holding my now reddened cheek, my eyes watered, from the pain of slap, the anger I felt and also the sadness. I'd driven Marc into becoming a beast.

"Nothing happened with Nate while we were together-I told you already. While I'm sorry I hurt you-what was I to do marry into a loveless marriage. Our time had come and gone Marc, you know that it's true."

"No! You are mine Claire. After all those years you think you can just walk away? Our parents had been planning our match for years. You know how much you embarrassed me and my family-do you even care?" He started to become a frantic.

"I'm not yours Marc and you kidnapping me won't change that you'll have to kill me. Because I will never give you want you want, you will never have me!" I spat back at him.

"We'll see. You have more to loose not Claire-twice as much." His sinister reply left me on edge and then I realised what he was really saying.

"No! You wouldn't, you can't! They're children Marc-not my girls." I pleaded, tears now pooling in my eyes-with a few escaping.

"You are not their mother; those little brats ruin everything-if it wasn't for them pulling your focus I know we'd be together now."

"You are talking about hurting children Marc. Are you that far gone you can't see how wrong that is?"

"Once you corporate Claire-not a single hair on their head will be out of place." That was the last thing he said before he spun on his heels and left.

"Marc!! Get back in here." I was about to follow him out when a man stepped through blocking my path. He was not very tall but the bulky muscles protruding from his neck was  enough to have me back down. "Marc!" I shouted over the man.
