For Jasper and Alana, it is just another day out with their families on summer vacation. They have gone biking many times before, but never on this trail...
Moisture rises from the canal and fills the air with illusion. The trail waits for it's next victim. Who will it be this time? The experienced camper? The innocent child? The careless hiker? Who will it choose to trick? Whose mind will it poison? Who will become just another face that disappeared without any warning? Who will be the next source from which the trail will draw its energy? Who will the trail take next? The trail must make a choice, but the trail is patient.
What's this? A new arrival? Yes! A group of people! They come on bicycles. The trail can feel it now. It can feel the chains moving... The gears turning... The feet pushing pedal over pedal... And what's this? Two of them are separated from the group. Perfect! They will be the trail's next target. And those who the trail chooses, never make it out alive.
