"They're horrible!" I said, gasping as I examined the two monsters, searching for any weak spots. "What do they really look like?" Percy asked, but I was way too shocked to move, much less explain that they were empousai. " Oh forget her." Tammi said smiling and walking towards us,I thought about ducking and sprinting through the doors when I noticed that Kelli was blocking the exit.

I was preparing myself for a battle, clearly we had to fight them for any chance of survival but when I looked at Percy his eyes seemed glazed over like he was zoning out. " Percy " I warned him and guess what his response was? " Uhhhh?"  he said. Tammi was getting nearer and nearer each second we spent wasting time." Percy! " I screamed as loudly as I could but he didn't seem to hear me." Snap out of it!" I, well...snapped, finally he took out his pen and uncapped it, making it change into a bronze sword.

" Oh, come on," Tammi protested. " You don't need that. How about a kiss instead?" she said trying to charm him. It was obvious that she just wanted to get him closer to devour but Percy just stood there entranced. He couldn't possibly believe her,did he? if so he needs a brain transplant. I pinched him extra hard hoping that would get him to focus " Percy, she wants to bite you! Look at her! " I told him. " She's just jealous," Tammi looked back at Kelli expectantly. " May I, mistress?" she asked Kelli who was still guarding the doors.

Kelli licked her lips hungrily and replied " Go ahead,Tammi. You're doing fine." Tammi took a step forward but, finally, Percy seemed to understand what was going on and leveled his sword on the empousa's  chest. " Get back " he threatened her confidently and for a moment I had hope that we were gonna be okay. Then she snarled at us " Freshman," she said like we were a type of reptile that she wanted to squish. " This is out school, half-blood. We feed on whom we choose!"

" A vampire!" Percy screamed like he just found out what these " cheerleaders " were and the truth wasn't so cheery. " Uhh,a vampire with-" he started to say as he examined Tammi's legs, " Don't mention the legs!" Tammi snapped. " It's rude to make fun!" Tammi advanced towards us,ready to eat us for lunch when Kelli interrupted her hunt for blood. " A vampire, you say?" Kelli laughed as if we were her just toys built to amuse her. " That silly legend was based on us, you fool. We are empousai, servants of Hecate." she said.

" Mmmm." Tammi edged closer to Percy obviously thirsty for half-blood, well, blood." Dark magic formed us from animal, bronze, and ghost! We exist to feed on the blood of young men! " Tammi told us like that was an honour. " Now come, give me that kiss!" Tammi, the empousa screeched at Percy. Like the idiot he was, he stood their standing paralysed as though he was processing what she just said. Yeah, well I wasn't about to give away my only chance of finding the truth die inside the stomach of a ancient greek monster. I silently checked my surroundings for anything that could serve a good slap.

I saw a snare drum and threw it at Tammi, knowing that it wouldn't kill her but was enough to stun her even for just a moment so we could possibly run for it.The demon hissed and batted the drum away, panicking, I threw a xylophone. However, the empousa swatted that away as well, " I don't usually kill girls," Tammi growled like a werewolf."But for you, mortal,i'll make an exception.Your eyesight is a little too good." she said, before lunging at me. That seemed to grab Percy's attention, " No!" he screamed while slashing out at Tammi with his sword.

Tammi tried to get out of the way but it was too late and with a terrible whine she vanished in a swirl of monster dust. I coughed because the gold dust swarmed over me " Gross!" I exclaimed, okay I admit that maybe I was being a bit over reactive.I mean at least I didn't get blood on me, that would've been hard to explain to my parents. Well, that is, if they bothered to look at me. " Monsters do that," Percy explained " Sorry." Meanwhile Kelli was steaming with anger and furiousity. " You killed my trainee!" Kelli yelled at us like we were littering the streets.

"You need a lesson in school spirit,half-blood!" she said, loping forwards, getting closer to us with every move of her mismatched legs. "I am senior empousa," Kelli growled, she seemed to have a hobby of growling doesn't she? " No hero has bested me in a thousand years." she spoke warning him of the fight she would give him. " Yeah?" he questioned the monster cheer leader clearly unimpressed. " Then you're over due!" Percy told her,I couldn't help but admire his confidence, even if it was just fake. Unfortunately Kelli was fast and much more powerful than Tammi.

I couldn't help but get frightened and scrambled, like an egg, away from the fight between Percy and Kelli. It would really help me now if you could give me some help, I pleaded in my mind, hoping that I could get a friendly tip in a flash-forward. Yeah, thats what I decided to call my glimpses into the future. " Such a pretty blade," she spoke delicately, " What a shame it stands between us " Kelli said. I instantly knew that she could just use force to kill Percy but she knew that it would be easier just to charm him into dying. Kelli was obviously succeeding as Percy looked completely distracted.

" Poor dear." the empousa chuckled as if he said the most hilarious thing that she ever heard. " You don't even know what's happening, do you? Soon, your pretty little camp will be in flames, your friends made slaves by the Lord of Time, and there's nothing you can do to stop it. That got my attention, I thought back to the dream/nightmare I had and how time seemed to stop when I got closer to the sarcophagus. " It would be merciful to end your life now, before you have to see that." We heard footsteps getting closer towards us from the hall, people were obviously approaching us.

What surprised me was that the empousa seemed happy, even excited, that they were coming. " "Excellent! We're about to have company!"she said cheerily and picked up a tuba and chucked it at Percy. Me and Percy ducked out of the way and the tuba flew above us and straight through the window. The voices from the hallway stopped suddenly like they all felt the intensity from our fight." Percy! " Kelli shouted, faking a scared voice that was horribly convincing." Why did you throw that?" the servant of Hecate asked him.

I knew what she was trying to do, making Percy look like the big bad villain and that she was just the poor victim. I had met some snobby girls who have tried to pin people down just for sympathetic publicity. It was kind of obvious to me but Percy stayed oblivious and shocked at what she just did.Kelli carried on with her act and smashed a bunch of instruments on the floor." Stop it!" Percy said, failing a poor attempt of distracting her from crashing another load of musical instruments and a whole lot of chairs. People now rushed stomping their feet on the hallway floor coming towards our direction.
