The next day, Mr. Drake, Kat and Chet went to an abandoned airspace to test Ty's speed.
"You know its not possible for him to really move that fast right?" Kat says doubtingly.
"Well Tyrone always believed in the impossible." Mr. Drake replied.
Kat fixes the wired EKG device to Ty's chest and Chet walks toward Ty and gives him communication devices lodged in his ears.
"I added few layers of synthetic foam to remove the sound of wind passing in your ear or in your case, potential sonic booms if you pass Mach 1, or the speed of sound." Chet tells Ty.
(Mach 1 is the speed of sound depending on atmospheric pressure and wind density. On land, it reaches 660- 750 mph while in the air it reaches 580- 640 mph.)
Chet steps 4 feet behind Ty holding a handheld speedometer.
Ty gets to running position.
"Ready when you are Ty." Mr. Drake shouts to Ty.
Ty runs and knocks back Chet and the tent set up to house the equipment with a strong gush of wind.
"Woah, 200 mph, am I really seeing this??!!" Chet surprisingly asks.
"But this is supposed to be impossible." Kat adds.
"Not anymore." Mr. Drake adds in subtle happiness.
Ty kept on running and running going faster and faster with every step. Suddenly, he got distracted when he remembered the incident 16 years ago with his brother and mother. Then when he got back to his senses, it was too late. He hit a brick wall shattering it and breaking his arm.
Moments later.
"Looks like you had a clean break between your elbow and wrist." Kat explains.
"Had?" Ty asks
"Your fracture healed in just three hours, in your body." Kat replies with fascination. "Looks like you have hyper-healing." Kat adds.
"That's cool man, really cool." Chet says excitingly.
"Well Mr. Tyrone Shaw, you are officially the fastest man alive running 347 mph." Mr. Drake tells Ty.
Ty's phone rings and instantly, Ty changes his clothes, and answers the phone.
"Hey wats up Marcus?"
"Come over here we have a crime scene." Marcus tells Ty.
"Ok, be right there." Ty replies
"Marcus needs me at a crime scene." Ty tells Mr. Drake.
"Wait, we have to run some more tests. This is revolutionary Ty we have to understand what happened to you."
Mr. Drake replies.
"I promise I'll be back." Ty replies and runs and he's gone, in a flash.
