Justin

As I let Demi’s words sink in, I wanted to cry my eyes out, but instead I just stood there and look at the girl I made broken. “I’m sorry Justin, I just. I just want to go home,” she looked down playing with her fingers. “I wish I could, but if I take you now, Joe will hurt you,” I say with sympathy when I saw her face go down. “I get it, just can you leave me alone for now,” I was going to say something but she turned around facing the wall. As I walked towards the stairs, I turned and said, “If you want, you can stay upstairs for now on.”

I heard footsteps coming up from the basement; I turned to see Demi with her hand clutched to her right wrist. “Uhm, I decided to take your offer about staying up her,” she shyly looked up, putting a strand of her behind her ear. “Uhm yeah, sure,” I said getting up from the living room couch and going towards her. “And I kinda need to take a shower, but I don’t have any clothes,” she didn’t look up and I didn’t have any girl clothes with me, I’ll just have to lend her mine. “Uhm you can borrow some of mine, and maybe after you shower, I’ll take you to go buy some,” I saw her nodded as I led her to my bedroom. “Is it cool if I get you sweats and a t-shirt, and I don’t know if you want a pair of my boxers,” I got out what I said. “Yeah that’s fine,” she said taking it from my hands. “Okay, well everything you need is inside the shower, oh and the towel is under the sink,” I pointed to the bathroom as she nodded going to the shower.

I sat in the living room, as I heard the shower go off. She said she loved me, but how can someone fall out of love? I get I did all those bad stuff to her, thinking about it I should just be happy she’s even looking at me. What if she can change me? I heard my bedroom door open, as a clean Demi comes out. “Can we go buy clothes for me,” she asked biting her lip, and boy was that a turn on. “Sure, but can we talk first,” I said patting the seat next to me. “Sure,” she walked to the couch, but at the other end. “Demi remember when you said you loved me, well the old me, and you know if you loved someone so much you’ll do anything for them right,” I said as she looked taken back, I guess not expecting for me to say that. “Yes,” she said cautiously. “Then help me remember, help me be the old Justin,” I flat out told her, getting to the point. “Justin,” she sighed as she said my name. “Please Demi, I really want to change, I don’t even want to be in the gang, I just want to be the Justin you fell in love with,” I said meaning every word I said. “If you are serious about this, I’ll help you,” she said understanding me. “Thank you,” I said. “Sure,” she smiled looking up finally. “Let’s go get you clothes,” I said getting up and putting out my hand to help her get up.

“Is this store fine,” I said parking in front of this store that looked to have some nice clothes. “Yeah, actually looks pretty nice,” she smiled taking off her seat belt. “There is no price limit, get as much as you want,” I smiled also taking off my seat belt. “Are you sure,” she asked. “More than sure, I owe you,” I smiled getting off the car.

As Demi started picking out clothes, I couldn’t help but smile at how excited she got when she found something to match the top. “What a lovely girlfriend you have,” an older but not to old lady said behind me. “Oh uhm she’s amazing isn’t she,” I lied but the thought of someone thinking she was my girlfriend made me blush. “You are lucky, let me help her,” she smiled as she went to help Demi.

“Thank you Justin for the clothes,” she smiled once I put her bags in the car. “You’re welcome, where to,” I asked her assuming she needed shoes or bras or you know girl things. “I don’t know, you’ve done enough,” she said putting her seat belt on. “Don’t you needs shoes, or bras or you know,” I said not wanting to go into detail, because I didn’t want her to feel uncomfortable. “Oh right, just take me to a nearby mall, that way I’ll get shoes, and stuff,” she sounded uncomfortable but laughed it off. “Well off to the mall,” I chuckled making her feel comfortable.

After taking her to Victoria’s Secret and to shoe places, and got a quick bite to eat, we headed back to the cabin. I unloaded the car and brought everything inside, locking the car and front door when I got the last bag. “Thanks again Justin,” she said putting the bags to the room’s closet. “No need to thank me, I’m happy to do it,” I smiled helping her. “Is it okay if I sleep in your clothes,” she asked biting her lip. “Yeah, sure,” I smiled getting boxers and sweats from the drawer. “Thanks,” she said getting in the bed. “I’m just going to take a shower, then go to the couch,” I said heading to the bathroom only to be stop by her voice. “You can sleep in here if you want,” she said shyly. “Are you sure,” I asked. “Yeah.” “Well then I’ll see you after I take a shower,” I smiled closing the bathroom door.

The Following Afternoon

I stood by the edge of the lake when my phone started buzzing, it was Joe.

Phone Convo:

“Hello?”

“Hey Justin, how are things going?”

“I have her in the basement.” I lied.

“Great, turns out I will be there today, actually in about 10 minutes, be ready”

“Why? I have things under control”

“Chill Justin, I only going to check up, if she seems broken then I’ll let you two go on”

“And if she isn’t?”

“Then looks like you won’t be joining the crew, and I’ll have to take over”

“Don’t worry she will”

“Good, I’ll see you in a few”

End of Phone Convo

“Shit,” I mumbled as ran inside to see Demi on the couch. “What’s wrong,” she said looking up from a magazine. “It’s Joe, he’s coming in 10 minutes, to see if you are broken,” I said panicking. “And what if I’m not,” she stood up looking worried. “He’ll take over,” I sounded sad looking down. “What are we going to do,” now she sounded worried. “Go hide your clothes and put on the clothes you had the day you came, and mess up your hair,” I said as she nodded. I put the magazine that Demi was reading under the couch cushion, when she came like the day she arrived. “Does this look okay,” she asked. “Perfect, but you don’t look that much damaged,” I said looking at her up and down. “Get a knife,” she said. “Okay, but for what,” I said getting a knife from the kitchen. “Cut me,” she said closing her eyes. “What no,” I said putting the knife on the table. “Come on Justin, it’ll look like you beat me,” she said grabbing the knife and doing it herself. “Demi,” I said getting the knife from her hand but she already cut herself. “I’m fine,” she said but I knew she wasn’t I was about to clean her up but she stopped me. “No, let’s just go to the basement,” she said walking towards the basement with the knife. “What are you doing,” I asked her. “Tie me to the bed like you did the first day,” she said as I nodded tie her feet first. “Wait,” she said punching herself in the stomach as I heard her ache from the pain. “Stop,” the said grabbing her hand. “Justin,” she said with tears in her eyes. “Everything’s going to be okay, just don’t hurt yourself anymore,” I said kissing her cheek, then tying her hands to the rails. “Once he’s gone, we will go back to making me the old Justin,” I said as she nodded. That’s when the doorbell rang, Joe was here.
