Chapter 2
Waking up to a headache pounding in your head wasn't the ideal wake up call. Not feeling the warmth the pup was giving out, I started to freak out wondering the worst. Hearing a little yip I turned around and saw it behind me with a rabbit. A cute, fluffy, pure white rabbit. Looking into its eyes I felt an instant connection like I did with the pup. Remembering that headache, the pounding came back full force making me see black spots in the corner of my eye sight. Falling to my knees in pain, muscles shaking, wind howling, it was all to much to take and I almost blacked out. A voice in my head stopped me though, told me it was going to be alright and to just let go, from my thoughts, feelings, everything. I did just that. Next thing I knew, I felt as if I was floating on a cloud itself. The feeling of comfort and being safe was all new to me, but I liked it. All of a sudden I felt as if I was going into the flames of hell itself. My skin felt as if it was on fire, bones aching. My head continued to pound like a woodpecker on a tree persistent to put a hole into it. Images flashing before my eyes, but not being able to pin point it was annoying. Finally everything just stopped; the aching, the headache, even the noise stopped making me wonder why. Opening my eyes, it looked as if everything was perfectly normal, as if. I remembered the pup and rabbit as a sopping wet tongue licked my face. Turning my face to look at the little wolf, I realized I should give him a name. "What should I call you", I said thinking out loud. "uh, what about Trey? No, never mind you don't look like a trey, what about tanner?" "yes, yes, I think Tanner would do just fine", I said scanning over the Tanner's face.
My thoughts were interrupted when I heard a rustling in the bushes, leaves crunching under something's weight. Glancing over where I heard it, which wasn't a great idea on my part, I slowly walked over thinking it was probably another animal. I was wrong. Getting tackled wasn't exactly on my to-do-list. "What are you doing on my father's land! All trespassers can be prosecuted on sight!", the man shouted in my face, while holding a knife to my throat. I heard Tanner in the background growling at the man for trying to hurt me, or that's what I think he was doing. Looking into his gorgeous blue-green eyes I spoke, stuttering, trying to find the right words. "We--well, ther-there's this man wh-who was try-trying to k-kill me and I ran awa-away", I said. He looked at me like he didn't want to believe me, but finally decided that he did. Getting up off of me, he stuck out his hand and said," Follow me".
