I'm the narrator and this is just the prologue...
I'm not Brendon Urie, sorry.
Anyway. This book contains LOTs of mature themes, as my science teacher
says, so enjoy going against my science teacher's advice to stay away from "hell's beacon".

There could have been a more pleasant way to go, in all honesty. He could have just silently sat and they would shoot him. Instead, like an idiot, he fought. He went down fighting. He charged the man in lead, pointing the gun towards him, and before he even got a meter apart from each other, there he was - a crumpled mess on the paved alley, dead. The man, who went by the name of "F", was part of a gang who stole his wallet.

His fucking wallet.

He could have just accepted it, and cancel his credit cards so they couldn't use it. But no. Tyler Joseph was not about to lose his ten dollar wallet from the thrift store. He tracked down that gang, and pulled a gun out. There were about seven people there, eight including Tyler. He was only sixteen, and he shouldn't have gone out that way. But he did, and now here's where he is: Looking at his body, still in the alleyway, thinking about how fucking shitty he was going out like that. He sighed, and looked up. "What now?" He said to himself. And the moment those words came out, he blacked out. And momentarily, his vision came back to life. Or death. He was standing in the same place he was moments ago- but the surroundings had been slightly warped. The clouds were dark and looked stormy, the atmosphere just had a dark glow. Tyler looked around. Figures walked along, looking like humans. Tyler heard something. A girl screaming. He walked out of the alley, and saw a girl, about his age, getting hit repeatedly. Tyler ran over, and shoved the man kicking her. Trigger Warning. "What the hell is wrong with you?" Tyler shouted, people along the streets gave them odd looks. The man simply grunted, and striked Tyler's face. Tyler fell, but felt the adrenaline rush through him, so got back up. He shoved them man again, harder, and then he punched and punched. The girl was standing up now, watching as Tyler tore this man apart. Tyler landed one more punch, and the man exploded. Into dust. Tyler stopped. What..? He looked around, and went back onto the sidewalk. "He's officially dead," the girl said, and Tyler was silent. "They go and review your life, and then decide whether it's hell or heaven," she continued. "So where am I now?" Tyler said, turning to the girl.

"Purgatory," she said. "You can do basically anything here. Get drunk, have sex, get married. The name's Lillian by the way," the girl, or Lillian finished.
"Tyler."
"Nice to meet you."
"Where's the nearest bar?"
"Down the street."
Tyler began walking, his head going sideways. Purgatory isn't real. I can't be dead. This is a dream. Purgatory is just a fictional thing. I'm going to go to this bar, and drink until I pass out. Then I'll wake up- his thoughts were interrupted by Lillian joining his side. Tyler started shaking, feeling anxiety and worry crawl up his spine. "You think loudly," she said, grinning. "You can't hear me think," Tyler retorted, rolling his eyes and turning to meet the entrance of the bar. The bartender met his eyes, and smiled. Tyler smiled back, and the man turned and set a drink on the seat Tyler sat in. "How did you know?" Tyler said, looking at the perfected drink sitting in front of him. The bartender grinned wider, and Tyler shuddered. "I know everybody's favorite drinks," he simply replied. Tyler shrugged, and downed the drink without thought.
"Tyler, you should stop," Lillian warned him after his 6th drink. Lillian began to worry as Tyler slurred "Another one." Lillian, became so angry and upset, the glass shattered. She then raised her eyebrows in surprise, and Tyler glanced at her angrily. Lillian grabbed his arm and she stormed out of the bar, Tyler with her. She walked to her apartment building which wasn't far from the bar. She got into the elevator with a stuttering Tyler, and clicked the floor number 6. They walked out after hearing annoying elevator music, and the ding of the elevator, and as they passed a room Lillian could her moaning. "Daddy, please, harder," a girl moaned. Lillian sighed and walked faster. Finally, she reached the apartment she was looking for- 656. She slid her key into the door, and Tyler collapsed. Lillian groaned audibly. She dragged Tyler inside, shutting the door. Eventually, she got him up onto the bed. She sat next to him, wiping her forehead which was beginning to sweat. Then, she too, was taken by sleep.
